trolleys: What makes trolleys fun? - 05/16/08 09:07 PM
What makes trolleys so much fun? Why is it "ok" to take a trolley ride, but not so ok to take a bus ride? Is it because trolleys are associated with vacations, and taking trolley tours around a city? Is it because trolleys relate to leisure time instead of necessity time? Or maybe it's because the windows are up and you can feel the outside. The photo is of the Looper Trolley in downtown St. Petersburg - you can ride it between hotels and attractions, museums and art galleries. You can even ride one to the beach - the white sand

trolleys: New downtown condo living in St Petersburg and Tampa Florida - 08/11/07 03:53 PM
This morning B.C. Manion wrote an article in the Tampa Tribune regarding condo living in downtown St Petersburg and Tampa, Florida. Manion chose Parkshore Plaza as St Petersburg's au courant residence and SkyPoint as Tampa's newest addition. There are descriptions and photos of these examples of exciting downtown living. Manion pointed out that SkyPoint has HART's In-Town Trolley passing by but didn't mention that Parkshore Plaza has The Looper Trolley going by. Even before gas prices started rising we were seeing people move from the suburbs downtown. Not only have they saved commuting time and energy, but there's so much activity around

trolleys: The Appeal of Trolleys - 07/27/06 06:50 PM
A trolley is so much more appealing than a bus. Think of San Francisco and of New Orleans. Trolleys are a great way to see the city and to do some sightseeing. Some are open air, some are air conditioned; some are wood, some are not. Maybe it's the design that catches you - whatever the variation, you know it's a trolley. Maybe it's reminiscent of "the good old times". Maybe it's a feeling of leisure, rather than utility. Maybe you feel more connected with the city than in a bus. Whatever the reason, they're certainly popular. In St. Petersburg, Florida, it's called The Looper.
