Aren't you tired of being scared. Business is slow or has stopped all together. You wonder where you next check is coming from. You worry about making your house payments. Where are you going to find the cash to buy groceries. Do you have enough gas in your vehicle.

Guess what? There are a lot of people out there in the same fix as you. Only they take things into their own hands. How? They take what they need from you. You are the one they see as having money. You drive a nice vehicle. You dress nice. You sell houses and land. They know in their minds that you have money. So they come after you. They come into your office and rob you. They meet you at a vacant house and rob you and possibly rape you. They wait for you outside your office and take your wallet, cell phone, watch. You are a target. The more successful you look the bigger chance you have on meeting one of these crooks.

Stop being afraid. Do something for yourself and your loved ones. Protect yourself and them. You know all the safety rules; Never show a house without first getting a picture ID and maiking a copy that you leave at the office. Try to have two or more Realtors in the office. Tell someone where you are going , how long you will be, and who you are meeting. Etc Etc. All are great ways to be safe. Your gut feelings is the best way. If it doesn't feel right, DON'T DO IT!

THe BEST WAY TO BE SAFE is to carry a NON LETHAL SELF PROTECTION ITEM. They now come in all different shapes. There is Pepper Spray tha looks like a normal Pen. Pool Safety Tips & Emergency Procedures

Drowning is the second most common cause of death among kids ages 14 and

younger. Why? Kids are attracted to water and it only takes one inch of water

for a child to drown. It is therefore extremely important to maintain Safety in

and around your pool. And in addition to any safety measures we propose below, IT

IS IMPORTANT TO HAVE RESPONSIBLE ADULT AT ALL TIMES.

TIPS

- -Never leave your child unattended in a pool, spa or hot tub -

-Install and routinely inspect fences, self-closing and latching gates, baby

barrier fences and alarms

-Have life-saving devices like a pool/hook or flotation devices near the pool

-Warning signs by the manufacturer, builder, or installer are displayed

according to the manufacturers' specifications

-Children under three years and children who cannot swim must wear a life jacket

-Secure the pool so that children can not get back in after they are done

Tips on Preventing Drowning (Birth to 4 Years Old):

-Never leave children unattended in or near the swimming pool, even for a

moment.

-Don't leave them in a flotation device or under the supervision of another

young child.

-Stay within an arm's length or touching your children at all times.

-When supervising children in a swimming pool, don't allow yourself to be

distracted by conversation or other activities. Keep your attention on them at

all times.

-You (or whoever is supervising children in and around water) should know how to

swim, how to perform CPR, and where the nearest phone and life preservers are in

case of an emergency.

-If your child will be in a child care program, find out what water activities

they will participate in. Ask about child-staff ratio, supervision, and CPR

training.

-Air-filled flotation devices like water wings are fine in the swimming pool.

But if you are participating in water sports or near an open body of water, use

a Coast Guard-approved life preserver instead.

Tips on Preventing Drowning (5 to 12 Years Old):

-Teach them how to swim.

-Remember that swimming lessons do not drown-proof your children.

-Teach them never to swim alone; they should use the buddy system, and have

adult supervision.

-Teach them to always enter a new swimming pool area feet first. Teach them to

find out (or ask you) the depth of the pool, and check for obstacles, before

jumping in.

Tips on Preventing Drowning (13 to 19 Years Old)-
Teach them everything that 5 to

12 year olds are taught, PLUS:

-Teach them the dangers of mixing swimming with drugs and/or alcohol

consumption.

-Remember that boys in this age group are at much higher risk than girls, so

take extra care to teach them safety.

-Teach them CPR, or find a class for them to take.

Pediatric Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

Guidelines for Rescue Breathing

If an accident happens, you should first determine if the child is conscious and

breathing by seeing if he/she responds to gentle shaking. Be especially careful

if the child may have sustained head or neck trauma so as not to cause spinal

cord injury. But even if the child is conscious"or if you have any doubts

whatsoever"you should immediately call â€œ911â€* or the emergency medical services

number in your area. If the child is unconscious, follow the procedures below:

1. Call out for help. Stay with the child while someone else calls â€œ911â€* or

other EMS number in your area. If you are alone and the child is obviously not

breathing, try one minute of CPR rescue breathing techniques before leaving the

child to call for help.

2. Position the child on his/her back, lying flat on a firm surface. If there is

evidence of head and neck injury, use extreme caution in moving the child and

keep in mind that the child must be turned as a unit with firm support of the

head and neck so the head does not roll, twist, or tilt.

3. Straighten the neck (unless injury is suspected) and lift the jaw.

4. Give slow steady breaths into the infants nose and mouth; into the larger

childs mouth with

nostrils pinched closed. 5. Breathe at 20 breaths per minute for infants and 15

breaths per minute for children, using only

enough air to move the chest up and down.

Home Security Story How to Protect your Home.

When Jimmy discovered plans for a row of executive townhouses on his street, he wondered if his new neighbors would attract burglars to the neighborhood. So Jimmy installed a security system that calls the police department during break-ins. Staring at the sensors and the controls, he wondered if it was enough.
That's when he bought his CyberEye.

The agent always hated tracking down receipts and evidence for homeowners' insurance cases. This time, he could see who was taking what items and when. Jimmy got even more good news that week. One of the ringleader's
so-called friends saw his picture on the evening news. That 'friend' wanted the small reward from the neighborhood watch association, and he told police where to find the burglars. Even the fanciest lawyer couldn't talk his way around that powerful image of the crooks, with their hands on Jimmy's things, stamped with a time and a date for everyone to see.
Jimmy's insurance company fixed the window and replaced all of the stolen goods. And Jimmy's neighbors ask him constantly about his CyberEye. He tells them every time how it was the best purchase he ever made.

Realtor Safety Story

I have a friend who is a real estate agent. Mary is female and very attractive. Her job takes her into many different areas of the city and she is showing property sometimes late at night.
     A week ago she received a phone call from a man who was interested in a house in a very prosperous area of the city. She agreed to meet him at the house, which was empty, at 7:00 that evening. She had gathered a few facts about him such as information about his family, where he was from and where he worked, so he appeared to be a bona fide customer wanting to buy a very nice house. She had asked him where he found her listing and he said he had seen her photograph in the Sunday edition of the newspaper.
     She arrived at the house early in order to turn on the lights and the cooling system. She was standing in the door waiting for him when he arrived. A 2006 Lexus sedan pulled up in front and a well dressed man stepped out. He had dark hair and a beard but he was well groomed. His clothes fitted well and were pressed. Overall he presented a nice appearance. He came to the door and shook her hand and introduced himself. Alicia accepted him for what he appeared to be, an affluent customer for a very nice house.
     Once inside she thought he followed her a little too closely as she lead him from room to room showing her the various good points of the residence. When they entered the Master Bath, he made his move. He reached out to grab her but she reached in her pocket for her LIPSTICK PEPPER SPRAY and pressed the button. Stunned, he backed away, wiping his eyes as he ran out the door. Without that pepper spray in her pocket the story would have had a different ending. Realtor Stuns Car Jacker

I got an email this morning from a very
happy camper down the road in Jacksonville, Florida
to be exact. She purchased some self defense items in January
of this year, and last week it paid huge
dividends. Susan is a real estate salesperson,
and does pretty well for herself. She's not yet
forty, but she started her real estate career
just out of high school, and is a grizzled veteran
of twelve years.

Susan's work has paid for some pretty nice
things for herself, and she has no debts. One of
those nice things is a top of the line Mercedes.
It is the two seat sport model, and it runs in the
six figures. She paid cash for it last year, and
it screams success.

Last week Susan came out of a top Jacksonville
restaurant, and walked to her car, about a
block away. Just as she was getting in, a
mugger grabbed the door, and ordered her out of
the car. She got out of the car, and the mugger
jumped into the seat.

What happened next was bad news for the mugger.
Susan took her Hot Shot Stun Gun and gently
applied it to the mugger neck. His head hit the
roof of the car, and he started shaking. Susan
grabbed hold of his hair and yanked him out of
her car.

The mugger grabbed her coming out of the car.
Susan calmly massaged his nether region with a

moaning. She called 911, and police arrived quickly.

The mugger told the first officer on the scene to

Three cops congratulated Susan for her work,

9 Must-Know Safety Rules

Know your prospects.

Never meet a first-time prospect at a property based only on a phone call. Meet at your office first. Tell the prospect that it's company policy to make a copy of a driver's identification of all customers. (Download a customizable prospect identification form.) Also, introduce that person to at least two other people in your office. Criminals are less likely to take action if they think they'll be recognized

Create a distress code.

When you feel threatened, you can use this seemingly benign verbal code in a phone conversation to your coworkers, friends, or family. The code is a tip-off that you're in danger and need help. For example, your distress code may be the phrase "red file." If you're in trouble, you would call your office and say something like "could you see if there's a RED FILE on the property?" The person on the phone would then know to call 911 or take another action you've agreed upon.

Don't be too flashy.

Wear conservative clothing and avoid ostentatious jewelry that could make you a target for theft. Real estate professionals often market themselves with photos, which can be risky, as perpetrators have been known to scan real estate photos looking for victims. Make sure your business photos are professional, not sexy, so that you don't attract unwanted attention. Also, don't reveal too much personal information in your ads or in conversations with customers.

Be in the driver's seat.

Always use your own car when showing a property so you stay in control. If a client insists on driving, let him take his own car and follow behind you. Also, remember to lock the doors whenever entering or leaving your vehicle to prevent criminals from attacking after you're in the car, or waiting for you in the car while you're running errands.

Don't get stranded.

Always keep your car's gas tank filled above a quarter-tank. Also, keep the following safety tools in the car: A charged cell phone, a battery jumper, a spare tire, and a roadside emergency kit that includes a flashlight and flares also are smart accessories to keep in your car.

Carry pepper spray.

Have a pepper spray dispenser easily accessible on your key chain at all times. Pepper spray is a chemical that causes temporary pain and even blindness when sprayed on an attacker. It also can be used against aggressive animals. Check Out http://garyhillerstrikeback.com

Keep an eye on the exit.

During home showings, never walk into a room first. Instead, allow potential buyers to explore areas of the home on their own, with you following behind to answer their questions. Avoid escorting prospects into basements or other secluded areas, where you can become trapped. Always position yourself between the customer and the exit.

Check in often.

Let your office and family know when, where, and with who your appointments will be and when you should return. Make it your policy to check in every hour when you're with clients. If you don't call to check in, the office should call you right away.

Never say you're alone.

If you encounter an individual while working late, never indicate to that person that you are alone. Say something like, "My supervisor will be right with you and should be able to assist you." Likewise, if you're meeting a customer at a home for a showing, never say anything about the home being "vacant." Make it seem as though other people may be at the house.

Did you know that there were 9273 murders, 29758 acts of forcible rape, 369105 aggravated assaults that occurred in 2006? That's one happening every minute. If you think this is just a number and it is not going to happen to you and your family, think again!

According to the FBI annual uniform crime report, most of these crimes take place at night. If you have a job at a hospital, restaurant, factory or retail store that often requires getting off work late at night, you need something to protect yourself. It doesn't matter if you are male or female; criminals often pick their victim based on vulnerability not gender. If they know you are not prepared or they consider you an easy target, you could become the next victim.

Police officers often teach self defense classes in the local community. One thing they teach is that the most effective aspect of self defense is awareness. If you want to avoid being a crime victim, you first have to realize that there is possibility that you could become one. You have to face the reality that crimes happen all the time and it could happen to anyone including you and your loved ones. Did you know that every 90 seconds, somewhere in America someone is sexually assaulted? 17.6% of all women in the United States have survived a completed or attempted rape. Also, the National College Women Sexual Victimization Study estimated that between 1 in 4 and 1 in 5 college women experience completed or attempted rape during their college years. As you can see, there is a need for women to defend themselves.

The ideal way for women to protect themselves is by learning self defense skills. It does not require any tools and can be used in any situation at any time. However, most people do not have time to take a self defense course. One thing you can learn without taking the course is awareness. Just knowing that crimes happen all the time and that you could be a victim can already save your life. Once you are aware of that, the next is to equip yourself for the situation.

The fact that most men are physically stronger that women is unarguable. Women need a more efficient way to protect themselves against violent crime. They need something powerful and easy to use so they can take down someone who is bigger and stronger than them. Stun guns Pepper Spray and TASERs might just do the job.
