EPA is now requiring contractors who remodel or rennovate to be EPA Lead Paint Safety Certified by April 22, 2010 if they are working on homes and child occupied facilities older than 1978. 
Fines for non-compliance could be as high as $37,500 per day.

Homes sales for the York and Adams counties area's is up 16% for the first two months of 2010. Median sales price in the Adams county area saw a 6% decrease, with York county posting a 1% increase. The Federal Housing Finance Agency stated today that the Home Affordable Refinancing Program (HARP) would be exptened for one more year. The program which is in place to assist homeowners with Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac loans with little or no equity in their homes. The program assists homeowners to refinance into lower interest rate mortgages, even though their homes value may have gone down due to the current economy.
