Has Someone Ever Told You "You Can't Do That" Watch This
Think about it, on your journey along your life's roadway.  Has someone steered you in a direction that you didn't intend to go by saying something like "don't be stupid", "your crazy", "you can't do that".
Life is a risk, and if you are going to get ahead, you have to take risks.  Don't … (7 comments)

Springtime in Gettysburg Borough - 04/23/10 03:35 PM
Springtime in Gettysburg Borough

Springtime in most any area is beautiful, beside the colors and blooms that usually accompany spring, Gettysburg Pa adds historic architecture to the mix. As much as winter brings me down I really enjoy spring, the mix of rain and sunny days we are getting is making Gettysburg a beautiful place to stroll. In the next few weeks the orchards should be in full bloom, I will definitely have to get some shots of that to share with you all. For now enjoy.... … (4 comments)

What do Stone Mtn Georgia, Mt. Rushmore and Gettysburg Pa have in common? The answer to that question would be Gutzon Borglum don't you know. Borglum is the creator of the North Carolina Monument here on the Gettysburg National Military Park Battlefield. The North Carolina Monument was dedicated on July 3, 1929. It is one of the most popular stops for visitors to the battlefield in part because of the notoriety of is famous creator. Sweet...Gettysburg Adams County is a great place to do business - 04/21/10 09:50 PM
Sweet...Gettysburg Adams County is a great place to do businessIt happened today, something that I think is totally the best. I had a closing today in which I represented the sellers, however when I entered the room for our part of the transaction the buyers stopped me and thanked me for going the extra mile to get the deal done. Now I have to be honest, I didn't go any extra mile as far as I am concerned, I just did what I normally do, the best I can. As we all do, I just got lucky and got singled out … (1 comments)

An Unassuming Local Hero - 04/18/10 09:55 AM
An Unassuming Local HeroIt's Sunday morning and I had the opportunity to read a wonderful story about a young man, or in my mind, hero. This extraordinary young man lives in Baca Raton, Fla. His name is Lucas Metropulos and he is teaching something to the local kids in his community something so basic yet so worthwhile. This creative 17 year old started a course teaching needy kids to feed both their families and have fun doing it. How, by fishing, Metropulos has added marine conservation as well as sea life to his course. He is inspiring many of the kids … (3 comments)

H2O can Cause Severe Damage to your Home & your Wallet
Here it is spring time in the Gettysburg Adams County area, and what that means is spring time thunderstorms, and with those thunderstorms comes rain. Rain by itself is not a big deal, heck I am in the rain every day (sorry couldn't help that one), but rain where we don't want it is a problem. The American Association of Insurance Services reports that water is the second leading source of insurance claims for home owners, right behind fire.
Most water damage can be avoided by performing a series of … (5 comments)

This is Truly Sad - 04/13/10 01:37 PM
This is Truly SadI recently have been reading more and more about this leviathan between the Hawaian and U.S. This mass of plastic that is estimated to be twice the size of the State of Texas is comprised of water bottles, shopping bags, and most anything plastic. This floating trash pile is visable to the naked eye which makes it a huge eyesore, but more importantly is threatening the marine life that is feeding off of it, and the humans that are eating that marine life. Compounds such bisphenol A and polystyrene are showing up in larger and larger amounts in … (62 comments)

Sprucing up Gettysburg Adams County Pa - 04/13/10 12:49 PM
Sprucing up Gettysburg Adams County PaIt doesn't take much to spruce a home scape. The spring time weather has arrived to Gettysburg Adams County Pa a bit earlier than normal. Home sellers through out the county are busy (or at least they should be) sprucing up their homes for the best possible looking curb appeal. As we all know if you can't get clients out of the car and in the front door, you have no chance of selling. Cub appeal is so important and so many home owners put absolutely no effort into making their homes stand out from the … (2 comments)

In the Land of OZ - 04/08/10 02:11 PM
In the Land of OZ Okay so I would say that most people are familiar with Mehmet Oz  the surgeon and television host. He has written many books, appeared on countless TV shows and even has his own syndicated daily talk show. BUT, have you met his wife? Lisa Oz is quite an amazing person in her own right, she has a new book out entitled "US: Transforming Ourselves and the Relationships that Matter Most. The book delves into relationships not from a male/female point of view, rather where we as individuals relate to all that is around us. I was watching … (6 comments)

Common Misconceptions Among Buyers - 04/07/10 01:17 PM
Some very important information for home buyers coming to us from Colleen McConnell in Tallahassee Fl
Thanks Colleen
Via Colleen McConnell, Tallahassee Realtor (Advanced Realty Group):
Misconception: If you pay list price, you're paying too much.
If you don't know what the current market value is for homes in the area and whether the market is appreciating or depreciating, you don't know what a fair price is and you're likely to miss out on a great deal by trying to low ball a house that's already priced well.
If the house meets your goals, is within your budget, and is priced competitively, it's … (0 comments)

Honey It's Time to Harvest the House - 04/06/10 04:07 PM
Honey It's Time to Harvest the HouseIn today's market everyone and anyone connected to the real estate business, either agents, builders, or property management companies are being forced to think out of the box. The market is moving but it takes some creative thinking to stay on top. With the growing attention and popularity of the green building movement, a new and different way to view home demolishing is emerging. Home harvesting is not only becoming popular, but it can be quite lucrative to the owner of the property.
The hope is that most of the unusable house can … (6 comments)

Historical Living in Adams County's Gettysburg Borough - 04/06/10 12:02 PM
Historical Living in Adams County's Gettysburg BoroughLiving in a historical town such as Adams County's Gettysburg Borough is a dream for many history buffs. Man times throughout the year I get calls from people from all over the United States looking to buy in Gettysburg Borough. These are different from the folks that are looking to purchase in the surrounding area, they want to be in the borough, in the thick of the history that abounds here in Gettysburg borough. A good portion of the borough is made up of "witness" buildings, "witness" referring to the fact that those particular buildings … (1 comments)

Truly a HyperLocalism Market in the Adams County Area - 04/05/10 02:39 PM
Truly a HyperLocalism MarketWith all attention on hyperlocalism these days has got me taken a closer look at how hyper this market really is. I know as Realtors we all complain about the mainstream media reporting things like Miami Florida's market is the same as Cleveland Ohio's. Having been a Realtor in California and keeping in touch with my Realtor friends there I know the market where I practiced real estate took a substantial hit, much more of a hit than the market that I currently work in. The market here never saw the gains that the California market did, therefore … (5 comments)

The Buzzword is Spring This Tree is Really Buzzing - 04/04/10 01:10 PM
The Buzzword is Spring This Tree is Really Buzzing
The tree below is again one from yard, it is right next to the deck, and right next to the trees I posted earlier with all the birds. It is our cherry tree, and right now the birds are staying away because it is being worked on by hundreds of bees. Sitting on the deck you can here the tree literally buzzing with all the bee activity pollinating and all. In just a few weeks the buzzing will be over and the birds will move in as I begin my yearly battle … (5 comments)

Flowers aren't the only sign of Spring - It's Foal TimeHere in Gettysburg Pa it is easy to tell when spring comes, the weather gets warmer, the apple trees in the orchards begin to bloom, and one of my favorite events, the baby horses start to be born. Watching these little ones interact with mom is quite a sight. I was on my way to a listing to put out signs today and my route took me past one of the many horse ranches in the area, I just couldn't resist stopping and getting some shots of these beautiful little creatures … (6 comments)
