What a great concept. "Pay it Forward Day" on December 1st 2010 On this day you are to do at least one act of random kindness (a good deed towards a total stranger without asking anything in return).  The receiving party is then to pass it on by doing a good deed to another stranger, and so on.
There is also an International Pay It Forward Day on 28th, April 2011.  It was started 10 years ago by the Pay It Forward Foundation.   But it would not be a bad thing to do this more than once a year.

The 17th Annual Lighting of the Holiday Tree in Catonsville, Maryland. 2010 The traditional kick off to the holiday season in Catonsville, Maryland happens on the first Saturday after Thanksgiving. Saturday November 27th at 6:30 the festivities will begin in the heart of the business district on Frederick Road outside of the fire station.  There is live seasonal music from local groups, complimentary toasty warm beverages and of course the very loud arrival of Santa on the fire truck. Black Friday Holiday Shopping- What was I thinking? My Team mate, Jen Demanincor and I said we were going to head out on BLACK FRIDAY and experience what all the fuss was about.
Walmart was advertising a deal on the I-Pod Touchthat seemed to be worth getting up at an insane time of morning for. $225 with a $50 gift card to Walmart.
Walmart in Columbia, MD opened at 5am, but I was a little slow to move this morning. I arrived in the parking lot around 5:45.

What do you mean you are going to school today: It's Thanksgiving! Today is Thanksgiving Day and just by reflex of a Family Holiday, I picked up the phone this morning to call my Brother and his Family.
The answering machine picked up and I left a little message, I then called his cell phone.
He picked up right away and I wished him an energetic "Happy Thanksgiving".
He said "It's Thanksgiving?"
He and his wife were at work and the children were at school.

Happy Thanksgiving- Now how long do I cook a Turkey for? Not being the most domesticated of people and especially in the Kitchen, Thanksgiving always presents a challenge. Every year I stress out about the guest of honor at the table- The Turkey! How long should it cook for? Usually I leave the finer details to the last minute and our Thanksgiving dinner always runs late.  Howard County sales for the month of October 2010 showed a decrease compared to sales of the same month in 2009, but were relatively similar, if not slightly more encoraging in some respects, than sales in September of 2010.
In the month of October in Howard County 17 Short Sales went to closing. The longest one on the market was listed in May of 2009 for $599,000 and eventually sold this month for a net of $328,000. Yesterday I posted a picture in the "Wordless Wednesday" Group just titled"Catonsville" The intent was not to be cryptic. It was one of a few taken last week during an OPEN HOUSE we attended at St Marks School in Catonsville
My little angel is now in Pre-K and it's time to decide where he will be starting Kindergarten next Fall.
St Marks Catholic School is an excellent school in the heart of Catonsville founded in 1889 under the School Sisters of Notre Dame. They have served generations of families in the Catonsville area and is very close to home.

The month of September was not as drastically different from 2009, but October seems to have caught up with the rest of the areas. Realistically 2009 had the lure of the tax incentive and Carroll County remains a great place to call home.

Residential Home Resale statistics for Baltimore City- October 2010  Baltimore City continues to be a tough market with sales down, days on market up, units sold down and the average sold to list list price ratio being the lowest in the Central Maryland area at an 85.4%. Inventory is abundant. It seems that investors with cash are the ones taking advantage of this crisis in Baltimore City. It's a great time to take advantage of the low interest rates and purchase a home in Baltimore City.

                     ~Residential Home Resale statistics for Anne Arundel County~ October 2010 In October of 2009 First Time homebuyers Buyers were out in force looking to take advantage of the $8000 tax credit. The extension had not been approved and many did not want to miss out. Consequently sales in October of 2010 look drastically different. There was a 30.62% decline in sales from 2009 in Anne Arundel County and a decrease of 32.67% in units sold.

Friday Foto's. Fun in the leaves in Catonsville. - 11/12/10 07:51 PM
There is no Mistake that it is Fall in Maryland. Catonsville is an area rich in old leafy trees. The beauty of the changing landscape is breathtaking. A change that is followed by the falling of the leaves and the carpet that they create on the ground. There is nothing more enjoyable than "Shushing" in the piles that the wind creates.
This was our late afternoon walk enjoying the delicious warm weather we have had this week. This was in common areas in Catonsville so no raked leaves were disturbed.

The Catonsville Mystery has been solved on Veterans Day.
In Catonsville Maryland along the main commercial area, the street was ablaze today with clean crisp American flags flying proudly to honor Veterans Day.


Residents of Catonsville are all too familiar with the flags that fly from the parking meters along Frederick Road on Federal Holidays, but for as long as I have lived in Catonsville I had no idea who put them up in the mornings and who took them down at sunset.

Did social media really help the Governor of Maryland win the Gubernatorial Election? An interesting observation as I sit here on the night of the mid-term elections watching on TV the celebratory speeches from the Democratic Incumbent Governor O'Malley from downtown Baltimore.
 This is from Martin O'Malleys Facebook Fan page.
      33,847 People Like This During his speech he even mentioned the support shown on Facebook. His personal page has over 4000 friends.
On the other hand the defeated Republican,Bob Erlich only has 832 people who "Like" his fan page! He does not seem to have a personal page.

Where do I vote in The Metro Baltimore area? November 2nd 2010. The mid term elections are upon us in Maryland. The Governor Race between Governor O'Malley and Bob Erlich is heating up. Each candidate has a gubernatorial record so as the day continues the results will be interesting.
As a Citizen of only 6 years of this Great CountryI am always proud to cast my vote. I may not agree with all of the politics or the candidates and I am certainly not thrilled about a recorded voice mail interrupting my dinner, but I am proud to be an American and that means I need … (5 comments)

Today, November 1st 2010, Long & Foster, The largest privately owned Brokerage in the Country, gathered it's producing agents, known as the SILVER TEAM in the metro Baltimore, DC, PA, Delaware area for a Networking Business Development Conference. 

Conveniently located (well it was for me just being a short 8 miles from door step to doorstep) at the BWI Airport Marriott, over 700 Long and Foster agents arrived between 7:45am and 9:45am.
Buffet Breakfast was served and was fresh and delicious with lots of fruit and bagels. A bevy of industry vendors lined the hallways with every type of service and need a Realtor could possibly want. Home … (11 comments)

The Baltimore Metro Area Market Watch report refers to residential sale activity for the Counties of Anne Arundel County, Carroll County, Baltimore County, Baltimore City, Howard County and Harford County for the month of September 2010.
First time homebuyers in September of 2009 were out in force as the tax credit was believed to be coming to an end. Statistically it was a strong month, but comparing residential sales data from September 2010 to 2009 is not really an indication of the 2010 trends of this area.
