Total sales volume decreased from January 2012's $5.9 million to $4.8 million this month, an almost 18% decrease. Though the number of units sold remained the same at 22, the average selling price dipped from $268 thousand to $220 thousand. Catonsville, MD Home Residential Resale Statistics - December 2012 Sales in Catonsville, MD, saw a 9% increase from December 2011 to 2012, rising from $7.9 million to $8.6 million. Compared to last month, the increase was even greater, as November 2012 saw total sales volume of $6.8 million, a $1.8 million difference. Though homes stayed on the market longer than last year (94 days vs. 82) and also, on average, sold for a lower price ($245,000 compared to $254,000), four mores homes were sold, 35 compared to 31 (and 7 more compared to last month's 28). Unfortunately for Catonsville, November 2012 was not the city's strongest showing with regards to the real estate market, as sales decreased almost 30%, going from $9.5 million in November 2011 to $6.8 milliom this month. This is largely attributed to a large decrease in homes being sold, with only 28 being sold this November compared to 41 homes in 2011. Compared to last May 2011, sales went down 20% from $13.7 million to $10.9 million (which is down 9.8% compared to last month). Real estate in Catonsville is alive and strong. The market saw a solid increase from April of last year with sales volume going from $8.4 million to $12 million, a 43% increase.
