If your thinking you just can't afford a new home in this day an age, this just may be the home for you.  It's priced right at $155,000.  For Southern Maine prices, that is a steal.  So what's the catch?  You guessed it, this lovely old Victorian needs just a bit of work.
What work you ask?  Well, she needs some paint, a window or two and a bit of love.  We all do don't we??  Although her interior needs a bit of spit and polish, the bones of this 1900 New Englander are as solid as rock.  Could you be the one … (4 comments)

maine: Maine's Oldest Home Up for Auction! - 03/23/07 06:23 AM
While reading on-line this morning in the Fosters Daily Democrat newspaper, I learned that the oldest home in Maine, "The Bray House" is being auctioned this Saturday, March 24th at 11 AM.  This home was built in 1662 by shipwright John Bray of Plymouth, England and was owned by the Pepperrell family for over 200 years.
This home, which is currently listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is located at 100 Pepperrell Rd in Kittery, ME.  It was originally built as a two-room home but it grew over its 345 years to become what it is today, a three floor mansion with 300 feet of ocean frontage.  … (0 comments)

maine: Kittery, ME - Former Brothel to become Townhomes - 12/12/06 01:03 PM

To put the scandalous history of the building behind them, the town has approved the demolition of the former Danish Health Club building … (6 comments)

If you've always wanted a traditional New England home, this is it!  This 2,800 square foot, 3 bedroom, 3 bath reproduction Saltbox Colonial exudes character.  To give you a flavor of what's inside, this home has wide pine board floors in every room except the kitchen and baths where you will find tile. The kitchen was designed with the warmth of brick and tile yet the appliances have been updated to stainless steel.  There are three fireplaces to keep this home toasty warm on those cold winter nights--in the kitchen, the living room and the master bedroom.  There is even an extra wood burning furnace in … (4 comments)
