Here in the Central Texas Hill Country, the weather has been glorious - mostly sunny and warm recently.  We have made it through Valentine's Day (hope everyone had a great one!) and President's Days sales (hope you got some great deals!).  It's almost time to start planting flowers, herbs and veggies in your gardens.  And, along with the blooming trees, bulbs popping their flowers up out of the ground and the emerging Texas Bluebonnets, many will start to think about listing their homes for sale for the "Spring Market".
We have already spoken to quite a few people who are now … (0 comments)

austin: Austin, Lake Travis and Lakeway Area News - May 2012 - Paragon Property Group Team - 05/03/12 07:29 AM
May brings an active real estate market in Austin with some neighborhoods moving into territory that is starting to look like a  “Seller Market”. Inventories in Austin are about 23% below what they were a year ago and demand is quite high, so it may be a great time to sell a home in the greater Austin area.  If you are thinking of buying, super low interest rates make purchasing very attractive.  The lease market in Austin is very tight and lease rates have been steadily increasing, making buying a home, condo or townhome more attractive than leasing in many instances.  … (0 comments)

austin: Austin, Texas Plastic Bag Ban Ordinance Unveiled - Support It! - 12/12/11 01:21 AM
The City of Austin has proposed a plastic bag ban ordinance which would take effect over several years. Beginning in 2013, for three years consumers will be able to purchase plastic bags for a 25 cent fee and in 2016, the bags will be banned with a few exceptions
This proposal has not been well received by many residents.  This is rather short-sighted and displays more of the laissez-faire attitude which will not allow our city and country to improve for our and future generations.  Our landfills cannot continue to accept the volume of trash that we generate.   European grocery stores … (2 comments)

austin: Is it Time to Buy Real Estate Again? Austin, Texas Point of View - 04/09/11 03:46 AM
I recently read an article by CNN's Shawn Tully, "Real Estate: It's Time to Buy Again", published on March 28, 2011.
The article references comments by the founder of Metrostudy, Mike Castleman, who lives right here in our neck of the woods, in Dripping Springs, Texas.     The company analyzes housing/construction markets in 19 different markets, including Texas.  Their client list features large corporations such as Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Pulte and KB Home.
One of Metrostudy's prime functions is to determine whether a market has a housing shortage or a housing surplus for new homes.
What the study … (1 comments)
