I went on vacation recently to the place I grew up. It was my old stomping grounds I visited (with my family) ~ the Bay Area ~ where I played Little League baseball, where I graduated from high school, where I met and married my wife, Kim, and my son, Michael, was born. Whether you’re planning to move or just want to organize your household, now is a good time to “weed out” unwanted items. As a rule of thumb, discard anything you haven’t used in 12 months, especially clothing you don’t wear or items your children have outgrown.
1. Throw away broken-down, worn-out items.
2. Get rid of old magazines by offering them to a hospital, school, nursing home or daycare center.
3. Recycle newspapers or use them for lighting fires or covering things while painting or cleaning.
4. Dispose of all expired medications by pouring them down the toilet.

If you aren't there, does anybody notice, care or ask, "Where is he/she?"? When you get out of the shower and there is no towel, that's indispensable. When you eat french fries and there is no ketchup, that's indispensable. When you change the baby and there is no diaper, that's indispensable. If we would manage these challenging times (and we will) we need to be the towel, ketchup, diaper (not suggesting anything here). Show yourself to be "absolutely necessary." It's interesting the whole subject of being mad or going from not being mad to being mad and what causes "madness" (not insanity) to overtake us. When I stub my toe, I get mad. I say, "Who left that stupid book on the floor?" When the guy driving in front of me is going too slow, I get mad. I say, "Doesn't he know the speed limit?" I purchased an iPod touch recently. The iPod touch is an iPhone without the phone and fee (for those of you that didn't know). It works wirelessly so you need to be in range of a wireless network to go online. One of the many things you can do with an iPod touch (aside from listening to music, surfing the web, checking your stocks and playing Pac-man lite) ~ you can search for homes, too!
