It's Beach Season here in Delaware!

Here are some Pros and Cons you can look forward to if you live ANYWHERE near any crowded beach.

PROS

  • The sand. Most people love to take their shoes off and relax on the beach! There is usually a breeze, everyone is happy and nice, and it is R&R time.
  • The water. For those who dont have a pool, or even if they do, some people just love to be by the water. Whether its for the sound, the smell, or to get in for a cool down.... beach goers love the water!
  • The Boardwalk. Everything is right there at your fingertips just in case you need it. Food, shopping, games, memorbilia, food, shopping.....
  • Put-Put Golf. The American Pass Time. Okay, so maybe its not that big... but if your playing with your family, friends, or spouse... you are shore to laugh, smile, and just enjoy yourself.
  • Seagulls. They eat your left overs!
  • Rides & games. For the big kids, or the little kids, either way everyone has a blast!

CONS

  • The sand. It gives everywhere, and I swear youll find it hidden somewhere in November!
  • The water. Your eyes burn, your skin is dry.
  • The boardwalk. 1 million people, enough said.
  • Put-Put Golf. Ever heard of a slipped disc?!
  • Seagulls. They poop & we all have our bad days.
  • Rides & games. You better be rich. Or ready to sell your arm & leg!!!

But hey, all in all it is a great place to live by. Fortunately we live far enough away that it only effects our traffic on Friday & Sunday (Memorial Day-Labor Day). I am near the Lewes Beach, Rehoboth Beach, Bowers Beach, Slaughter Beach, Dewey Beach of Delaware...they are mostly within a 20 to 30 minute drive away. Its nice to be only a hop skip & jump away!!!

I know we have all been to that place where we put our head down, our hands on our head, and bite our lip trying hard not to cry. Its nature. So when this happens to you next time, think of this quote, and think of the WHOLE WORLD saying this to you!

You are worth it, you can do it, and its going to be okay.

You know this one too.

So I started up this web page back in October (I think) and I haven't done anything with it since, oops! It's not that I don't "know how" to, or that I am "too busy" (I could use three more hours to work a day though [= ). Its that I just didn't understand the IMPORTANCE of blogging until well, yesterday.

My grandsons girlfriend has been helping around the office some, helping to keep up with the paperwork, making snazzy brochures for our new listings, & such and yesterday she was on his Active Rain Blog helping him set up...when suddenly we were all introduced into a blogging world phenomenon.

I have never heard of generating leads simply from using active rain blogging until yesterday. So with that I have a new goal. Learn all I can about this blogging, work hard at it, and see what it gets me.

So on to more news about Life in my Real Estate World!

Business is busy, believe it or not. Between the team we have a lot of listings, and most of them are showing quite frequently. I had a settlement yesterday, which is good, and we have some more lined up throughout the three of us.

Kent and Sussex County Delaware seem to be surviving the economy. Homes are selling, people are buying and that's good news to consumers. Milford seems to be doing well as well. New neighborhoods are going up all the time, as well as new homes throughout out all the back roads.

Don't get me wrong, we had a better year last year, but this year is not over yet...and things are getting better all the time for us!

Getting new leads is the key though. PR work can be time consuming, but I want everyone to know I am willing to do it! I am going to work hard, I am going to spend the time, and I am going to dedicate myself to it!

I think Delaware needs more people on the web, and our team is willing to put the effort forth to get us up there! So here we go! Lets see what we can learn, see what we can do, and see how well it works!
