     As I leave the office today for a 5 day retreat, I wanted to reflect on this holiday.  I will return to my house today and start the baking of cookies & pies.  Later tonight I will start mixing the stuffing for the turkey. I will set my alarm for O dark thirty in the am to put the turkey in the oven, and then we will start our day.  After I get all the linens and holiday dishes out I will turn on the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade.  My middle son is home from college for the week … (0 comments)

This tells it like it is.  I am certainly going to use this when I have an unrealistic seller on the fence about listing at an approproiate price.

         Is this a good time of year to sell or buy?  Well, I for one love the buyers during this time of the year.  You know that when they are looking at homes during the holiday season, they are serious.  At least this has been my experience!  As far as selling, I'm not so sure.  Most people that are living in their homes have holiday things going on all throughout this next month and a half and cannot have their home available for showings.  I guess it all depends on how motivated they are to sell.  It has been a … (2 comments)

Today is the first day of the rest of your life.....Also, today is my 23rd wedding anniversary.  I have been truly blessed by meeting this wonderful man and having him in my life for the last 25 years or so.  We have raised three boys together and are starting to move on to our empty nest years after the last one graduates from high school this coming June.  Gosh! If I had it to do all over again, I wouldn't change one thing.

Just a moment of my time for Veterans Day!! - 11/11/10 11:23 AM
I would like to just take a minute of everybody's time to reflect on Veteran's Day.  Some people see this as a day off from work, no mail, no trash pick up, etc.  In my area, schools are still opened and most of us are at work, except government workers.  So here I am at the office trying to reach those prospects and keep my buyers and sellers happy.  But I want to reflect on this one day just for a moment.  My Dad is a war hero.  I knew nothing of this until I was about 18 or 19 years … (2 comments)

     Daylight Savings time versus Standard Time!!!  To change or not to change, that is the question???  OK, there is much ado about this time change.  I, for one, do not like it getting dark before 5pm in the evening.  I suffer from the blues pretty quickly in the winter months if I do not keep busy.  This is because of the darkness, (I am told).  I truly do not understand why we keep falling back in the fall.  I honestly believe we should keep the Daylight Savings Time enabled all year long.

We attended The Severna Park Chamber Of Commerce Holiday Trade Fair yesterday evening.  I have never been part of this before and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed myself.  Here is Dave & Cheri McCollough (my broker & his wife)  in front of our booth.

     Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could all go paperless!  Just imagine all the trees that we would save.  I have written before about how I am going paperless, but most of this business still hasn't allowed it.  Unfortunately, even though I bought a tablet computer, joined docusign, have a great backup system in place and paid dearly for a great scanner, I cannot get past the paper trail.                                                                          My dream is to go out and meet clients with my tablet computer, wireless card & my smile.  No paper to waste.  Quoting Jim Cronin, http://realestatetomato.typepad.com/the_real_estate_tomato/2007/01/going_paperless.html , Can movement towards a … (3 comments)

I'm not really sure just what to blog about.  I joined AR because it is very informative, but I find myself trying a bit too hard.  I have never been much on writing.  Sure I can talk your ear off, but write it down....not me.  I am a Real Estate Agent and considered very friendly and outgoing in my circle, but I do not consider myself a writer.  Active Rain has been so far very friendly to me.  I joined quite awhile ago and just left my profile here.  Not until recently, have I done more with it.  A past client found … (4 comments)
