I love my new Blackberry Bold but even with reading glasses, it was a pain to browse the web. Am I old or what?

Solution: Tips on how to change Blackberry browser settings for better viewing

If you're tired of not being able to read the text in a web page and having to constantly keep zooming in this is how to change that.

Open the browser, go to Options, General Properties. The settings with the asterisks are the ones that need to be changed.

Settings should say:
Default browser Internet Browser
Default Font Family BBAlpha Sans
*Default Font Size - type in 10 - You can raise the size by clicking 1 until you reach the number you want. I have mine set at 14
*Minimum Font Size - type in 10 - Do as above
Minimum Font Style Plain
*Default View Column (change this here and then when you are in a web page and want to see page view just hit 'z'. Having this set to column view makes all the difference.

The next few I left the same, but changed the following:
Prompt before: check Close Browser on Escape - made it much easier to close completely.
Closing Modified pages should be checked anyway.

In the Browser Configuration option, I checked Support JavaScript, but not allow JavaScript popups. This may slow your browser just a little bit but it's worth it to have Java. The rest of the boxes are checked.

Then hit the escape key when you're done. It will prompt you to save settings - click OK and they are now saved.

A much better experience!!!

Hope this helps those of you that didn't already know this.

To change the font size on your device in general, click on options, screen/keyboard and type in a new font size. Now I can finally see everything without squinting or buying stronger reading glasses.

Dogs and cats really DO get along!

Freedom of the Seas sailing by Millikin's Reef in Port Canaveral. People came from all over to attend a benefit for the family of well loved local entertainer "Pizza Bob Neace". The event happened Sunday 11/22/09. Bob's website is www.pizzabob.com

The Billy Lee Soul Review with photos of Pizza Bob. He just suddenly dropped dead from a heart attack and leaves a wife and four children. I guess when your time is up, it's up. The bottom line is he had a ton of friends and fans and will be remembered for a very long time. What more can you ask for?

Cybil Gage performs a "Billy Holiday" style set with her phenominal keyboard player on the right. There were 20 outstanding bands, there was a buffet with donation and lots of cold beer. Pizza Bob would have loved it!

This is what the beach looked like on my bike ride before I went to the benefit. Do you think Pizza Bob is out there somewhere?

I feel blessed to live where I do and this benefit is a reminder to enjoy every minute of your life because you never know when it will all end. Happy Thanksgiving!

Today I am thankful that my family is strong and supportive in our troubled times. We would never let petty differences get in the way of our true bond to each other and we agree to disagree at times but WE ARE FAMILY! If one of us falters in any way, we all come together and try to fix it. My Dad is 86 and he is our patriarch. He has all of his marbles and even though his body is failing him and he gets crusty at times, he still gives his voice of experience to us all and we listen! My Mom was so supportive in anything we did and spent hours on the phone with my daughter dispensing advice to her and the family and just listening. How many dysfunctional families are out there just waiting for disaster to happen for no reason? It doesn't take a genius to raise a kid, just a caring parent. It's all about kids and the way they are raised, mentored and loved and love is the key. That's just what a family does.
