The housing market numbers are in for July 2009, they reflect our local housing market (Columbus, or Central Ohio) continues to show improvement in the areas of; fewer homes on the market than last year and the homes that are on the market are selling faster than last year. If you are a buyer, you are definitely benefiting, as home buyer you are paying about 4% less this year than you would have last year for a home. First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit to Expire in 79 Days! - 09/11/09 03:34 PM
If you haven't already heard that the first time home buyer tax credit of $8,000 will expire on November 30, 2009 or 79 days. You still have time to buy a home, but, you will need to be in contract in the next 30 days to close on a home before November 30th. Why do you need to be in contract in the next 30 days or October 15th? The Banks need 45 days to close on a home mortgage. Columbus, Ohio -   over all has done very well during this recession compared to most of the nation cities. One key factor is our central location in the state and easy and quick access to major markets, such as, the Northeast and Midwest markets. Since 2001 we have had one third increase in the transportation and distribution industry with this our local economy is very diverse or more clearly  stated, we have had a lot of big businesses employing a lot of people to support the transportation and distribution industry.
