The "Mold Issue"! - 01/27/10 01:28 PM
Over the past several years the "mold issue" in homes has become an issue (pun intended). As a Realtor I'm asked by my buyer's how it does come about and my response was very limited. But after reading the link below I think now I can respond with a more informed position. It all comes down to home maintenance with a deligent home owner the "mold issue" can be prevented.
1. Eliminate clutter, pare down your stuff, cleaning your home very well once a year. 2. Don't obstruct air return and supply grilles with furniture or draperies. 3. Keep (0 comments)

The National Association of Realtors web site (link below) provides both Realtors and the consumer current information on the housing market in any given area of the United States. The Columbus Ohio housing Median price $142,900 down one percent from last year and it also reflects median home prices for the past three years. This information is very useful to help buyers and sellers understand how to price their home or what a buyer can expect to pay for a home in the Columbus housing market. Home Improvement Projects That Get the Best Return! - 01/12/10 09:17 AM
I look forward to the annual home improvement projects that get the best return report from the National Board of Realtors Association publishes. You can check your area return out too. In Central Ohio there are four projects that get you the biggest return, they are, add an attic bedroom, add a back-up generator, remodel your basement and replace roof. When I saw the return on a back-up generator for our area I thought this is odd, but it makes sense, we can get very strong winds and ice storms which will knockout electric and cable power. If you are buying or selling your home you should have a home inspection completed, why? It protects your interest, if you are a buyer a home inspection will discover if the home has major issues, minor issues and determine future repairs that may be needed. If you are selling your home you should have a home inspection completed because most of us don't see that our home needs repair and in this market you want your home to sell and not scare off a buyer because of repairs.
