Thankful Thursday, 12/30/10 - 12/30/10 05:36 PM
On the day before the last day of the year, I am simply thankful to still be here.  Simply that.
2010 has been a good year, filled with lots of good things.  I am grateful.  The holidays were filled with fun, family, friends and pets and I am beyond grateful, especially for the young people in my life.  And to still have my mom, who while shrinking to 4' 9", is still a major part of my life.

2011..... bring it on!
All good things are wished for you and your family!

Matters of the heart... for the love of our pets. - 12/28/10 06:19 PM

When I was 25 I got married. I had always had at least one or two cats growing up, and I had always assumed, upon getting married, that I would have at least that many cats and a dog.  My two cats that I had when I was single died shortly before I married and I entered into a state of wedded bliss without any pets. What a shock it was to me to learn that my husband didn't want a dog or a cat.  Forget two cats, he didn't want animals in the house.  He is in the carpeting … (29 comments)

Thankful Thursday 12/23/10 There's no mouse in my house! - 12/23/10 10:20 AM
Today is 12/23/10 and in two days, it will be Christmas morning.  I already have all the presents I need.
Two handsome, happy, healthy sons who have a mom and dad who love them.  A warm, happy and messy house filled to the brim with wrapped presents and loud music, kittens running all over, a little dog chasing them and my mom is arriving today.  My mom loves to visit the pandemonium that is my home and then, once here, longs to return to her quiet apartment!
My sister and niece are coming tomorrow to have a modified version of the Italian Fishes … (21 comments)

Christmas is Coming! - 12/22/10 05:15 PM
Years ago I read a poem about Christmas.  I cut it out and put it in a frame and sadly, there is no author's name attached to it.  I've googled some of the lines in the poem, but haven't been able to come up with anything.  I wanted to share it because each time I read it, it touches me.  I have a very childlike love of Santa and get genuinely excited whenever I see him, much to my children's embarrassment.  I love that Christmas brings out the child in each of us, and my hope is that problems will never be so … (14 comments)

A Tail of Two Kitties.... A love story - 12/20/10 09:45 AM
The kids and I have decided it was time to get another cat.  Having had no luck in the past getting a friendly cat, Max decided that since I picked our family's first cat and Mike picked our second cat, both of which had personality disorders, he should get to pick the next family pet.
I am a lifelong cat person who, in mid-life, got my first dog.  I am now a nauseating dog owner who bores people senseless with dog stories and gushes over how much I love the little fella.  But I did miss having a cat.  Max … (21 comments)

Thankful Thursday, 12/16/10 - 12/16/10 10:17 AM
Last night was the annual Holiday Agent Appreciation Party and a good time was had by all.  Every time I write about how much I love working for my brokers, someone contacts me to tell me how unusual this is.  In my almost 26 years selling real estate, I have worked for 4 different companies.  I've always been happy, for the most part where ever I am.  I am a firm believer in blooming where ever I am planted, but my past companies do not compare with the happy and upbeat atmosphere and the support and caring that we get from … (9 comments)

It's all about personality and customer service, UPS Store, East Goshen Township - 12/10/10 04:57 PM
A lovely young couple purchased a home from me in February.  They have an adorable daughter and just this month had their second child, a boy.  A little while back, I started giving dated ornaments the first year people are in their homes and I always buy a baby's first ornament for friends and clients when they have a child.  I also had a small gift for their daughter, a 2011 calendar, and a Christmas card.  They live about 45 minutes from here and with the holiday fast approaching and me not having shopped for a single gift yet, I thought … (12 comments)

Old Fashioned Parade was a huge success in West Chester, PA - 12/04/10 04:54 PM
It was a great night to be in West Chester last night!  This is one of my favorite events of the year! It was frigid but the cold only put me more into the spirit of Christmas!  This parade was nothing short of spectacular and I only wish my camera had cooperated and taken better photos.
One of my favorite things was seeing The Lone Ranger on the tallest and most beautiful white horse (Silver) that I have ever seen!  It was truly something to see.

There were 8 high school marching bands, one better than the other and … (11 comments)

Thankful Thursday, 12/2/10 A Whole New Month! - 12/02/10 09:20 AM
To quote a much younger Max, "we have a whole new month Mommy!".  My gosh, I miss those days of Little Tyke toys and millions of legos all over the house.  There are so many things that you grouse about when the kids are young that it's truly one of God's mysteries that these are the things we miss the most.   And the wonder.   I miss the wonder and innocence of childhood.  When they didn't slip and say bad words and a happy meal would bring out a huge smile.  When the items under the tree were surprises from Santa, not … (18 comments)
