Everhart Park, West Chester Borough, PA - 04/27/11 02:55 PM
West Chester has many lovely parks.  I was driving past one today and simply had to stop and take some photos.  Everhart Park is located at the intersection of West Union Street and S. Brandywine Avenue, south of W. Miner. This Sunday, 5/1/11 from 11 to 4, happens to be the Festival of the Arts.
This is a gorgeous park, in full springtime bloom!  Look at these photos and you'll realize why I had to pull over.  It's simply gorgeous.
As you can see from the sign, Everhart Grove was donated to the Borough of West Chester by Dr. Isaiah Everhart … (17 comments)

Get a free pretzel in Chester County on 4/26/11! National Soft Pretzel Day - 04/21/11 10:12 AM
Having grown up in South Philadelphia, soft pretzels are near and dear to my heart.  There was actually a little Italian man who went up and down streets pushing a small pretzel cart most days in the summer.  You could get a regular sized pretzel or you could get a small 3 inch sized pretzel.  The mustard was in a big container with a long stick and he would slather mustard on your pretzel.  I'm thinking 5 cents each or something like that!  The pretzels were still warm from the bakery, crusty on the outside with just the right amount of … (20 comments)

4 Common Remodeling Mistakes - 04/20/11 05:21 PM
CNNMoney.com just published a great article detailing the four most common remodeling mistakes.
When remodeling, according to the article, you want to stay away from being too trendy.  Trends come and go (shag carpet, avocado appliances) and the fastest way to date a home is to update in 90's colors (rose and blue) and try to sell the home in 2011.   I think this is the best piece of advice anyone could give someone who was thinking of remodeling.  Paint is an easy fix, but there are certain things that will date a home that are more costly to replace. … (16 comments)

Happy Clients. I love Happy Clients - 04/19/11 04:55 PM
I had a settlement last month and I think it's fair to say the client was happy. I love happy clients!  I met the buyer about 2 years ago, while he was in the thinking stages of buying his first home.  I love first time buyers and I don't mind waiting and helping them until they are ready to make that first purchase.
I showed the buyer homes over the two years of our acquaintance, every now and then.  He's a busy young man and we didn't go out looking very often due to the high volume of his work schedule.  There … (14 comments)

Thankful Thursday, Hersheys Mill trees are celebrating Spring! - 04/14/11 03:27 PM
It's a gloriously sunny day in East Goshen and today is my day of the week to deliver Meals on Wheels.  One of my all time favorite places to be in the spring is driving around in Hersheys Mill.  This over 55 community is located at the intersection of Greenhill Road and Boot Road and, to my untrained eye, is one of the most lovely and scenic neighborhoods in the area.

It's always a pleasure, in every season, but spring is my favorite time of year to drive through the neighborhood.  The trees are celebrating Spring!

A wide variety of … (14 comments)

Good Sportsmanship. It counts in life and in sports. - 04/11/11 10:20 AM
I went on a listing appointment last week and found out on Saturday that the listing went to another local agent.  When the seller called me to give me the news I was disappointed, obviously, but I was also curious.  What information didn't I impart to them to convince them that I was the right person for the job?  I had sold two listings in that neighborhood last year, and I had come prepared, I was enthusiastic about their home.  Turns out they know the agent they picked for quite a while, friend of friends, alumni parent, etc.  You can't win … (20 comments)

Do you want to feel loved when you come home? Get a dog! - 04/09/11 05:45 PM
JJ is our family dog, a small cock-a-poo.  He's 20 pounds of pure love and affection and truly the nicest man I know.
There are several buses through our neighborhood every afternoon and somehow JJ always knows exactly which bus Max is on.  He starts to whine as soon as the bus passes our house and will continue to do so until I let him out.  Then, he stands there and wiggles for all he's worth; looking back at me to make sure I'm participating in the welcoming parade.  It's one of the highlights of my day, and I'm sure … (29 comments)

Thankful Thursday! Spring makes an appearance in East Goshen, Chester County! - 04/07/11 02:15 PM
Spring has been a long time arriving this year, in my opinion.  It seems to me that we are almost ready to pay taxes and only a few trees are in bloom.   Aside from yellow daffodils and forsythias, there really hasn't been much color.  Yesterday, though, I came across this lovely flower in my front garden bed!
There aren't many of them, but they are a welcome sight!
Today, while driving through Hersheys Mill doing my meal deliveries for Meals on Wheels, I came across this beauty.

Hersheys Mill is a lovely over 55 Community that is breathtakingly … (14 comments)

“Keep East Goshen Beautiful Day” is set for Saturday, April 9, 2011. - 04/05/11 08:58 PM

“Keep East Goshen Beautiful Day” is set for Saturday, April 9, 2011.  I absolutely love living and working in East Goshen.  In fact, our new office is walking distance to the township building.  If you haven't noticed, we are at 1595 Paoli Pike, across from the Wawa and Swiss Farms.
Our brokers, Mike D'Adamo and Mike Santoleri opened our new office during the week between Christmas and January 1.  It's a beautiful buidling and our offices are really something I am proud of.
This Saturday, 4/9/11 our township is looking for volunteers to help in a spring clean up.
Please … (8 comments)

Mother Nature says April Fool's Day to Chester County, PA - 04/01/11 08:15 AM
I awoke this morning to a blanket of snow!  Seriously?  It's April 1!  I realize that the expression "Man plans, God laughs" is true and I'm thinking we have all planned on an early spring and God had another idea!
For this reason, because the weather is so unpredictable, we can not plant annuals until Mother's Day!  That's where I'll be on Mother's Day, when I am not watching Max play soccer, which he seems to do every mother's day... I'll be in my garden, planting my annuals.
It's Friday and snowing in Chester County!  We need to take the good … (22 comments)
