I am caring for someone in my family and I won't say who it is out of respect for privacy.  I can't say how grateful I am that I have risen to the occasion of caring physically and changing dressings and doing things that I never dreamed I was capable of.   It turns out that love does trump squeamishness at the sight of blood.

A client, who was very happy with me, posted this photo to his facebook wall with a nice note.
"Thanks Susan! We couldn't have done it without you!!"
To say this made my day, would be a gross understatement.  Tom and Barb were a joy to work with and I was so happy to sell their current home and see them happily settled into their new one.
Thank you Tom and Barb!  You made my job so easy by keeping a gorgeous home, staging, painting and generally being a delight.

It's a closing day!  That's always a reason to be thankful.   This closing was with a great couple who've become dear to me and the house is a beauty, so I am very, very happy for them.  With the tide turning here in Chester County, many homes were selling as quick as we could get to see them.  When Tom and Barb saw this one, they acted quickly and got the property for an excellent price!

It's down to the wire for Thursday and while I have a few hundred things to be thankful for, I was coming up empty for today's thankful Thursday post.  My new desk chair?  Is that enough of a reason to write a thankful Thursday post?    My momma gave me some money for Christmas so I decided to treat myself to a new chair today.  My boys assembled it and I am sitting in it and so yes, I am thankful.

I never thought I'd live long enough to be thankful for a Kindle.  Honestly, I fought this new contraption tooth and nail.  Two Novembers ago we were at a mortgage company function and there was a drawing.  The next prize to be drawn was a Kindle and I looked at one of my best friends and said, "Watch, I'll win it because I'm the only person in the world who really doesn't want one."

Just like that.  We have an opportunity to either keep going on the same path or switch gears and go in another direction.  I don't know why the end of the year is one of the only times we think about changes, but it seems that the big things we'd like to change are most often thought about as the year ends.

What is Wednesday's word when you wake up Thursday and realize that the very second week after you start a new group and you've already forgotten to post?  Whoops!  That's what the word is.
Every time we have a holiday that falls on a Monday, my weekdays get completely mixed up.  Here it is Thankful Thursday and I am just writing a What's the Word Wednesday.  We'll use the holiday for this week's excuse.  I'll have to think up another one for next week.

I am getting older.  To be precise, on Monday, I will no longer be 52.  Good grief!  Where did the years go?

Today I am thankful to my friend Lisa Capparelli who volunteered to help my chapter of Meals on Wheels through the summer. Our regular Friday driver's daughter had some serious surgery and our driver wanted to spend the summer with her to help however she could. I met with Lisa today and she drove around with me on my regular route and fell in love with my folks as I knew she would. Lisa will take over some of the Fridays for our driver and it will be a huge help to all of us.

Oh yes!  This week, my very own baby boy is graduating from Kutztown University.  Besides the fact that I am proud beyond belief, I am amazed at the swiftness of time.  This shy little boy has grown into a fine young man, tall, handsome, gifted in graphic design, funny and still my baby.  It truly doesn't seem possible that he is graduating college when he just graduated high school.  His little brother Max (all 5' 11" of him) is going to be 16 and itching to drive.  I AM NOT READY YET.  Isn't it bad enough that one boy is already … (11 comments)

In less than one month, my son Mike, will be a college graduate.  How in the world can it be that this little boy... I mean young man, can be graduating?  It feels like yesterday that I cried while dropping him off for the first time at Kutztown.

Anyone who knows me knows that I love dogs.  One dog most especially, but I love animals in general.  Last week I noticed a video on the Facebook page of the Chester County SPCA.    A mom and her 8 pups were at the shelter.  The mom, Gigi, had found her forever home and the pups were ready to be adopted.  They were adorable, of course, I've never seen a baby anything that didn't tug at my heart.

Woo hoo!  March 1!  While it's been an unusually warm winter, I am so happy that we are in the homestretch.  I can't wait to see the trees flower and see my garden come to life.   Always on the lookout for things to be thankful for, I have a small list.

It's another beautiful spring day in West Chester.  Wait... it's only February 23!  It's been spring-like for most of the winter here and I am alternately thankful and waiting for old man winter to drop the other shoe!  For now I think I'll just go with thankful!  My son Max, a snow lover has alternately been mourning and enjoying the warmer weather.  He wants to enjoy the snow and sleep in on snow days but also likes wearing shorts and a t-shirt, which he will wear weather it is 23 or 60 degrees.  With the warmer temperatures comes less nagging from … (11 comments)
