In my final sprint to the finish line of this years BIG Jumpstart back to basics event I am trying to get in a few missing posts. I understand blog posts were supposed to be submitted only one a day, however at this point my drive to finish is more important than the rule of "one-a-day". It is up to the judges to determine if I earned my bonus points or not.

contest: December’s Season of Celebrations & Sharing Contest:USO Ft.Carson,CO - 12/15/11 11:50 PM

The USO (United Services Organization) in the past has probably most been known for their performances for soldiers in the 2nd world war. It got quiet around them for a long time. Don't get me wrong, they were still there but all these volunteers were just not glamorous and simply helped military members and their families during stressful times.

I myself very so thankful for the USO when I was travelling overseas and was able to find a USO in an otherwise strange country. It was a bit of hope.
