I want to sell and/or buy a Sacramento area home and I need to know: What are "closing costs"? This is a question I am frequently asked. You might have heard someone say that there are "all of those costs" associated with a real estate transaction, and you don't know if this is something to worry about.First of all, do not let the idea of closing costs intimidate you. They are not very mysterious. Basically, they are everything outside of the purchase price that a buyer pays to complete a real estate purchase (including those relating to his home loan), (1 comments)
sacramento real estate: Will this upgrade increase my home's resale value?

Will this upgrade increase my home's resale value? I have read in Remodeling Magazine and other publications that a properly maintained and clean home is preferred over one that is upgraded, based on surveys. It seems easy to determine from anecdotal evidence that upkeep may be more important to buyers than upgrades. This isn't necessarily true for all buyers, of course, and all buyers want to buy a clean house with few necessary repairs. The Sacramento real estate market has stabilized Have you heard news reports about the housing market continuing to be depressed? That sales or prices are down? There are a lot of news stories about the "terrible" real estate market, and the fact that since Sacramento has such a high unemployment rate, the market here must be awful. Well, I can tell you that the numbers do not reflect that, nor does my experience. Realize that most figures discussed by the news media are national figures, and some areas of the country are experiencing worse challenges than others. Some parts of our (8 comments)

Some parts of our own state are worse off than we are in Sacramento County. One problem with the news reporting is that they seem to pick out a very (2 comments)
