This is Fathers Day, and I spent the day with my husband Jon watching Rory McIlroy win the U.S. Open while breaking a slew of records.
I took this photo of my Dad, Harry Becher, on Fathers Day 2002, just a few days before his fatal heart attack.  This photo has been a special one for me.  We were watching the U.S. Open together, and he was smiling about something someone on TV said.

us open: Remembering My Dad's Last Fathers Day - 06/20/10 03:32 PM
It is Fathers Day, and although my dad has been gone for 8 years, today is an emotional one for me.  My Dad and I were closer than at any time in my life during his last year or two.  He lived alone in Northern California and I lived in Southern California with my husband.
