2011 Annual Solomons Offshore Grand Prix Race Comes to Solomons, MD again September 23-25,2011- The thrill and excitement of offshore boat racing comes to Solomons, MD again this year September 23-25,2011.  Hopefully the weather will be better this year, but even with bad weather an estimated 15,000 fans were in attendance

All Hurricanes are Local - As I woke up this morning in my normal groggy state, I suddenly jolted awake realizing it was now daylight – time to survey the damage Irene left Solomons with.  After a week of tracking Irene and trying to figure out how Solomons would be affected and how to best prepare, the answer has played out.  There are a lot of downed trees and power outages, not exactly good news, but all things considered could have been a lot worse.
