Comparing the Haywood County, NC homes sold reports for the periods of January 1 thru February 22, 2007 vs. 2008 produces the numbers illustrative of the present residential real estate trend in our area (Maggie Valley, Waynesville, Canton, Clyde, Lake Junaluska).Three bedroom homes remain the best sellers in volume. Homes in the $700,000 to $799,999 took the longest to sell during the referenced period of 2007; homes in the $500,000 to $599,999 took the longest to sell in the same period of 2008. Haywood County, NC encompasses Maggie Valley, Waynesville, Canton, Clyde, Lake Junaluska, and surrounding areas such as Jonathan Creek. The length of time homes are on the market increased during January, and the number of ’solds’ was down quite dramatically. Today, February 13, 2008, we have 969 active listings in Haywood County, NC. Haywood County, NC MLS Statistics - 2007 compared to 2006 - 02/05/08 05:40 AM
According to the Haywood County, NC Board of Realtors, the dollar amount totals of residential sales were down most of 2007, as were the number of units sold in 2007, compared to 2006. It is interesting to note that the average median price in 2007 was up from 2006. It remains a Buyer’s market in Haywood County, and the numbers of units sold probably won’t increase significantly until the selling prices are based on the present market.
Haywood County includes Maggie Valley, Waynesville, Canton, Clyde and Lake Junaluska.
