Lake Junaluska always provides new and beautiful views and/or flowers each and every time I drive around the Lake, depending only upon the season. Yesterday afternoon it was warm and sunny, and the swimming area was quite busy. Hard to imagine getting into the water since the temperature on my deck yesterday morning was 52 degrees. lake junaluska nc: Did You Say Shut the Duck Up? - 01/24/09 04:54 PM
There were ducks unlimited yesterday afternoon at Lake Junaluska. They were swimming in the water AND standing or sleeping on the ice of the partially frozen lake. This is an unusual sight here in Haywood County! THANK YOU Brent for calling me about the photo opportunity!! Why don’t their little webbed feet get cold standing on the ice?
Lake Junaluska is definitely in winter mode. Yesterday it was apparent that gone are the beautiful roses I loved photographing, but the water fowl decorate the lake quite beautifully. Lake Junaluska’s winter activities are varied and appealing and featured here. Would you like to see the Lake Junaluska roses in full bloom? Here they are.
If you appreciate architecture, the architectural choices along the Lake for your lake-front home are varied and charming, and some homes are in the midst of being decorated for the Holidays. I bet night-time photos would be much more colorful!

lake junaluska nc: Everything is 'Rosey' on Lake Junaluska, North Carolina. - 09/15/08 07:26 PM
Beautiful Lake Junaluska, which is a beautiful, established residential area developed around a lake, is just a few minutes from my home and my office, so I drove by the Lake yesterday to see if there were any photo opportunities before I went home. Wow, I hit another jackpot. There are too many rose bushes to count planted all along the Lake's jogging path, which is quite long. Here is just a sample (out of 200+ photos I took) of the beautiful roses blooming along the lakefront.

lake junaluska nc: Synchronized Swimmers on Lake Junaluska in North Carolina. - 07/21/08 09:53 AM
Last week my photography teacher, Bob Grytten, took his little 'ducklings' out to Lake Junaluska early in the morning to learn more about photography and light. These geese were not part of our lesson that day, but they were too beautiful to ignore from the shore. It was obvious that 'birds of a feather swim together...' as the mallards were not mingling in the water with the big guys.

lake junaluska nc: Fireworks for the Fourth at Lake Junaluska, North Carolina. - 07/05/08 09:26 AM
Fireworks at Lake Junaluska last night were 'explosive!' My view was from the sloping yard of a 'home with a view' in Lake Junaluska and, as you can tell, I loved the 'exploding tree branch' effect. Lake Junaluska is a beautiful residential area, a Conference and Retreat Area, a great place to stay (lodging and accommodations), and is a place to worship.
