The Average Asking/Listing Price and Average Selling/Sold Price are the lowest recorded this year.
The most expensive home sold in October sold for $400,000, and the least expensive home sold for $55,000.

The volume of residential real estate sales in Haywood County, NC during the first quarter of 2008 was down 33% compared to the same period of 2007. There were 195 sales recorded during the first quarter of 2007, and 129 sales recorded for the first quarter of 2008. However, average selling prices in 2008 were down only 4% ($228,087 in 2008; $238,199 in 2007). The average days on market increased by 20 in 2008 (139 average DOM in 2007; 159 average DOM in 2008).

Haywood County, NC residential real estate sales in March 2008 totaled 47 in number as of 03/31/08, with an increase in average asking price and average selling price to the highest average prices in 2008 for Haywood County, and the highest number of monthly sales since November, 2007!  We like that trend. residential real estate statistics: Haywood County, NC - Waynesville Residential Real Estate Statistics - March 2008. - 03/19/08 06:29 AM
Waynesville, NC closings during 2008 are down 32.9% compared to the same period in 2007. Average listing and selling prices for the closed transactions are down only 2.1% and 5.2%, respectively, when compared to the same period of 2007. However, the average listing price of the 478 active listings today in Waynesville is $385,886. Wow… the most recent average selling price figure (01/01/08 - 03/19/08) is $243,332. When the current listing prices more correctly reflect today’s market, the sales will increase.
