&lt;p&gt;Hard to believe that it was just 3 months ago, December 2006, when Active Rain passed the 10,000 member mark after launching in June.&amp;nbsp; &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In half that time, another 10,000 members have joined the ranks, bringing the grand total to 20,000 members as of a few moments ago!&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>Weather Forecast - Heavy Showers</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;This morning, before Ken headed east to Denver (I understand from Tony that Ken is in the middle of 1 degree Fahrenheit weather!) we had part 2 of our team meeting that started on Tuesday.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Today was all about expectations, activities and metrics.&amp;nbsp; &amp;quot;Results&amp;quot; goals are great to shoot for - but accountablity has to happen at an activity level.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;You can &lt;strong&gt;CONTROL ACTIVITIES&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;You can &lt;strong&gt;INFLUENCE RESULTS&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;That&amp;#39;s why breaking down objectives into measurable activities is key.&amp;nbsp; Tony&amp;#39;s metrics are to average 1 listing appointment per day - 20 days of the month, with a conversion rate of 90%.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Historically, his conversion rate (appoinments to listings taken) hovers between 88 and 92 percent.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The activities are what he needs to do to generate the appointments.&amp;nbsp; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;He had his listing appointment for today.&amp;nbsp; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;He just got back from meeting the Sellers at his (Tony&amp;#39;s)&amp;nbsp;office.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;He has the listing.&amp;nbsp; A &amp;quot;priced appropriately for the market&amp;quot; 300K listing.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;So now he has until Monday to generate his next listing appointment.&amp;nbsp; That can wait until after he helps one of his &amp;quot;die hard&amp;quot; personal sphere of influence buy a home tomorrow morning!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;So far the weather this year has been Heavy Showers.&amp;nbsp; We love it!&lt;/p&gt;</description>

      <title>Bad Weather = Magnet for Some??!</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;Sounds like we&amp;#39;re well on the way to nasty weather across much of the country.&amp;nbsp; Today in Phoenix it&amp;#39;s gloomy and chilly - not an official weather report - just my personal observation.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;For some reason - coincidence perhaps - one of our Team Members - Ken Spencer - always seems to be heading to Colorado at the first sign of bad weather there!! &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;You would think that snow, ice and generally unpleasant conditions would be a good reason to stay put in Phoenix for a few days - but this type of weather seems to be a magnet for Ken.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;It draws him in to Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport - where he stands by in Terminal 2 for the next available flight to Denver on TED (the little brother of United Airlines).&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;To top it off - rather than just&amp;nbsp;getting to Denver - he&amp;#39;ll be heading up into the mountains to stand his shifts on the fire and rescue crew this weekend.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I think I&amp;#39;ll cozy up by the fire with a good book.&amp;nbsp; That&amp;#39;s why we have a team - Ken can handle the fire stuff!&lt;/p&gt;</description>

      <title>Flashbacks to Corporate Life</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;In my previous life in the corporate world I was a Senior Business Systems Analyst for a Fortune 100 company - responsible for putting internal customers together with programmers and creating websites for our external customers to use.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;A significant phase of every project involved testing the website - putting it through it&amp;#39;s paces - attempting to &amp;quot;break it&amp;quot; - to ensure that by the time it was available to the end user, it was robust, accurate and did what is was supposed to do.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Knowing that this is a phase of any development, I was mentally geared up to tackle our &amp;quot;beta&amp;quot; blogsite in the same fashion.&amp;nbsp; Many of you were kind enough to take the time to review and comment on the site, and the collective brainpower of expert bloggers lasering in on our fledgling site was both mind-boggling and very much appreciated!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#39;m now well entrenched in clicking and scrolling anything and everything, noting what&amp;nbsp;needs attention, and firing emails back and forth to RSS Pieces as Mike, Mary and John diligently dot the &amp;quot;i&amp;quot;s and cross the &amp;quot;t&amp;quot;s.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#39;ll admit I&amp;#39;m having flashbacks to corporate life - where often unrealistic deadlines from the &amp;quot;gods&amp;quot; meant 60-70 hour weeks.&amp;nbsp; This is slightly different though.&amp;nbsp; The end result is a benefit for us - and the time spent on this won&amp;#39;t result in a decrease of my revenue - but just the opposite.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;If a thing is worth doing, it&amp;#39;s worth doing well - even if it&amp;#39;s not top of the list of things I would like to be doing today!&lt;/p&gt;</description>

      <title>Where does all the time GO?!</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;January 9th 2007 - it seems like New Years Eve was only yesterday.&amp;nbsp; We&amp;#39;ve been busy non-stop since January 2 - including Saturday and Sunday - with hardly time to draw breath before rolling into our Team Meeting today.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Being busy is a good thing - since it involves listing appointments, helping build Localism.com by contributing photos and adding communities,&amp;nbsp;and kick starting the carefully crafted business game plan for 2007.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;If the year continues at this pace, it won&amp;#39;t be long before we&amp;#39;re ready to celebrate Christmas again!&amp;nbsp; I think we need to take a breather tomorrow - it may be a while before we get another. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;OK - forget that idea - Tony has another listing appointment for tomorrow afternoon.&amp;nbsp; Perhaps Thursday?!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;</description>
