Honesty is the Best Policy..but Can You Cut Me a Break? - 01/28/10 05:07 PM
Everyone who deals with me tells me I'm "too honest".  Really?  Is that possible?  I certainly don't believe it.

Three times this week I had my honesty tested.  One, I went to the gas station.  Pumped gas.  Went inside to pay...I know archaic...but I needed a banana!  The clerk told me no gas was pumped on that pump. $20.00.  I argued with him, but there were other people waiting to pay so I went back out to my car to check the gas gauge.  Yes, I had about $20.00 of gas in my tank...so in 20 below wind chills, I trudged back in to … (10 comments)

Don't Email ME!!!! Google Locked Me out of my Account! - 01/23/10 04:22 PM
in its infinite wisdom has locked me out of my gmail account for 24 hours.  My infraction?  Flying fingers.  I don't know about you, but I love my email.  My email is my business...it brings me buyers, sellers, BPOs and some other real estate assignments.  I make money when I am online.
I tried everything.  They asked me when I created my account...the month, the day, the year.
"Dear Diary - Today I started my gmail account with Google.  It's an historic occasion.  Nearly as important as the birth of my child, my wedding anniversary, the date I started my real … (10 comments)

I'll Let You in on a Big Secret - 01/20/10 11:36 AM
This young man has more common sense than most people I know.  He is street smart, book smart and, quite apprarently, money smart.  I hope you enjoy his post.
Via JL Boney, III Columbia, SC Real Estate (Russell and Jeffcoat):
I believe it's time that someone shares with you a huge secret that seems to be lost on a lot of people. It may very well seem like a simple solution to a lot of problems of today, but I can assure you that it's an often overlooked epiphany. It's something that I can credit my Mother for sharing with me a … (4 comments)

FHA Waives 90 Day Rule - 01/17/10 09:41 AM
Finally, some great news for our area.  We are fighting an uphill battle when it comes to the foreclosure market.  I applaud this effort.  It will make a tremendous difference!
Via Neil Blair-Bennett & Israel Emory (Hope4HomeBuyers.org):
In an effort to stabilize home values and improve conditions in communities where foreclosure activity is high, HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan today announced a temporary policy that will expand access to FHA mortgage insurance and allow for the quick resale of foreclosed properties.
"As a result of the tightened credit market, FHA-insured mortgage financing is often the only means of financing available to potential homebuyers," said … (4 comments)

Lennar Homes Buys Back Property It Defaulted to Wells Fargo From Wells Fargo - 01/16/10 08:37 PM
Interestingly enough, Lennar Homes has come up with cash to proceed with Martin Farms again.  It has 16 developments in the Twin Cities area and now has 54 additional single-family lots in Otsego.  Apparently, they have some confidence in our neighbor to the northeast as far as selling lots and single-family homes in this time of somewhat uncertain economic times.  This particular builder can sense a profit.  The properties are scheduled to sell from between 184,900 to $275,00.
My wish for them, is that given the conference call I was on yesterday with several REO vendors, that they can sell new construction … (2 comments)

Haiti update: Why can’t we expedite these adoptions? Please contact your US Representatives! - 01/16/10 08:20 PM
I cannot help but be devasted by the tremendous impact on the survivors.   These people need our help.  They needed it before, and, now they are in such dire straights, that I cannot imagine.  Could you go four days without food, water, electricity.  I know I could but how heart-wrenching this tragedy is for people who purchase the food they need each day on that day?  We all have gotten the word for how to make donations, but please consider this on your list of special needs.  Thank you.

Oh, the horrors of downloading off the Internet!!! - 01/14/10 05:55 PM
So, I think I am pretty computer savvy.  I wanted to do HD photography and found a site that promised it for free with five stars....oh, yeah.  Whose five stars?  Well, I downloaded it and read the tutorial and then, declined the yahoo toolbar, the blah-blah, the blah-blah-blah, the blah-blah-blah-blah, and it intstalled.  Great.  Now, what do I do.  No explanation of how to use it.  But, guess what, I have a new browser.  Something called My Freeze.  Yay!  All kinds of muckety-muck.  Sorry I'm partial to my own web brower, which does a mighty fine job for me and has … (8 comments)

The Albertville Creamery Antiques Store - 01/12/10 08:55 PM
If you haven't strolled through an antique store lately, perhaps you should.  Everyone these days seems to be longing for the "old days".  Here is where you can truly see the artifacts and memories from those days.  I took a trip down memory lane recently and saw toys from my childhood, comic books, fun funny hats, books I remember from my when?  Each booth had something for my mind to mull over...I remember that!  I wish I still had that!  My mom had one of those!  I remember my Dad using that!  It was so much fun!

Wouldn't It Be Nice...to Curl Up with Active Rain? - 01/09/10 09:00 PM
Most evenings when I retire for the night, I like to curl up with a good book.  It puts my mind to rest and is less disruptive to my thought processes than listening the the crime, bad economic news and storm forecasts that the evening news dishes up to me.   So, as I was contemplating what to read tonight, I had a brilliant idea.  Stop that!  I know what you're thinking.  Brilliant idea and me don't normally go together...but to continue.

There is so much great information not to mention inspiration on the Rain that I thought … (14 comments)
