Gov. Rendell directs early release of liquid fuel payments to ease burden of winter storm cleanup costs To aid local governments with mounting winter storm cleanup costs, Gov. Ed Rendell has directed the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation to release early $308 million in liquid fuels payments. PennDOT will issue liquid fuels payments starting March 1 to 2,556 local governments throughout the state. These payments normally begin after April 1 each year. Liquid fuels allocations are annual payments issued to municipalities to help pay for transportation-related expenses, including snow removal and related materials costs. Cast your vote on the link below for The Animal Rescue Site's recipient of $10,000 first place prize. There are three $3,000 grants and fifty-one $1,000 grants. Your shelter has to be a viable organization in the Petfinder.com system. Voting is simple and takes less than a minute. Enter the country, name, city and state of your favorite animal shelter. They do a search in their databanks so you put in as much information as you know. You can vote once a day until April 18th. Black Lab's were bred to jump out of the boat in the cold waters of Canada to save drowning people. I'm sure Rocco would do his job with alacrity. He's my 90 lb snow puppy.
