Jockeying a soda can to the Moon with courage and determination. - 08/28/12 01:14 PM
Richard Weisser did a nice job reminding us of the courage of Neil Armstrong and the other astronauts in 1969. It was space travel in its infancy. In the 60's school would virtually stop all normal activities on the day of lift off. Our teacher would tune the rabbit eared television to the one of 5 channels that got the news about the incredible launching. Those were memorable days. Hey NASA could send up a spaceship a week as far as we were concerned. No subjects for half the day! Neil Armstrong, I salute you sir and those fun school memories because of (5 comments)

10 Things People Forget When They Move - 08/26/12 10:59 AM
Susanna Haynie has compiled a great reminder list of things to remember to pack on your way out the door. Number 6 has happened at a few of my settlements. Number 2 has happened to me a few times. Number 1 is how one of my cats came into my life, Zachariah was his name, liked to roam the neighborhood day and night. We would feed him occasionally and invite him in for a visit. We learned his owner had moved and probably couldn't find him in time. Zack was one of the smartest cats I ever knew. I often wondered if he didn't plan the whole thing.

A picture of Love - 08/20/12 10:14 AM
This is a CBS video inspired by the sweetest photograph taken by Hannah Stonehouse Hudson, that has gone viral with over 3 million hits. She has captured the essence of the love and devotion between John Unger and his 20 year old pup "Shep". Shep has arthritis and finds it almost impossibe to get comfortable enough to sleep on dry land, so John takes him into one of Wisconsin's many waterways and holds him as Shep drifts off to sleep. If that ain't love, nothing is. Please hang on thru the 30 second ad. (5 comments)
