Richard Weisser did a nice job reminding us of the courage of Neil Armstrong and the other astronauts in 1969. It was space travel in its infancy.
In the 60's school would virtually stop all normal activities on the day of lift off. Our teacher would tune the rabbit eared television to the one of 5 channels that got the news about the incredible launching. Those were memorable days.
Hey NASA could send up a spaceship a week as far as we were concerned. No subjects for half the day!

Susanna Haynie has compiled a great reminder list of things to remember to pack on your way out the door. Number 6 has happened at a few of my settlements. Number 2 has happened to me a few times.
Number 1 is how one of my cats came into my life, Zachariah was his name, liked to roam the neighborhood day and night. We would feed him occasionally and invite him in for a visit.
We learned his owner had moved and probably couldn't find him in time.
Zack was one of the smartest cats I ever knew. I often wondered if he didn't plan the whole thing.

New Marple Township Recycling Program - 08/25/12 10:23 AM
Marple Township in Delaware County to expand recycling On Sept. 5, Marple Township will start weekly collection of paper and co-mingled material. Previously, the township collected recyclable material on a bi-weekly schedule. The increased collection is expected to make it easier for residents to recycle and reduce the township’s waste disposal costs. Collections will be held on Wednesday. Materials allowed in the single-stream recycling include all plastic soda, milk, and detergent bottles, aluminum and bi-material cans, clear, green, brown and blue glass, newspapers, junk mail, and paperback books.
