If you’re a birder, you won’t want to miss this lovely bi-annual event! The hummingbird migration through the Tucson area is a remarkable natural phenomenon that occurs primarily in the fall and spring. Tucson, Arizona, sits along one of the major migration routes for several species of hummingbirds, including the Anna's Hummingbird, Black-chinned Hummingbird, Rufous Hummingbird, and Broad-billed Hummingbird.

If you've taken in very many of my blog postings, you know that I like to capture the mountains in the background, or even the focal point, of many of my posts. Coming from Puget Sound, WA, where we had the familiar companion of Mt. Rainer to keep us company, I have a strong appreciation for mountains.
Marana is no exception to "mountains", and intersting hills and dales. And with those topographical features, the first thing that comes to MY mind is...hiking!

Birding - Free Things to Do In Tucson Birdwatchers - you've got two weeks to get in some quality time at the Tucson Audubon Society's Mason Center. Imagine 20 acres of natural saguaro-ironwood desert, on Tucson's northwest side. It is adjacent to Arthur Pack Park, and is a preservation habitat for desert plants, animals, and birds.
