According to CNN, the Senate has reached a tentative deal to extend the $8,000 first-time homebuyer tax credit and to add an additional $6,500 tax credit to some existing homeowners who have lived in their home for the past 5 years.The tax credits if passed would run through the end of April, though this is very preliminary as the House will still have to come up with their version and they would both have to be reconciled.Some ideas that have been floated have been to end the tax credit, extend it as is through the end of 2010, and allow it (3 comments)
