Good Morning ActiveRain the Redwoods in California
Robert Swetz aka Vegas Bob is long overdue for a visit to some of his largest living friends in the world, the redwoods in northern California.
Here just two of the many photographs Robert Swetz has taken in Humboldt County in northern California approx 100 miles south of the Oregon state line.
Robert Swetz has been visiting, camping and taking photos & videos of the GIANT redwoods now for around 35 years and I miss them ...

Founders Tree is located in Founders Grove along the Avenue of Giants in Northern California and is one of the bigger Redwood Trees, but not the biggest.
Founders Tree was very difficult for Vegas Bob to photograph because of it's height, but I did in the photo (below) these paragraphs. If you look real close you can see this sign in the photo above and below at the bottom of the photo. VB had to use a (wide-angle) lens that is borderline fish-eye if you know about camera lenes. Vegas Bob was hiking in the Redwood Trees in Orick California today, and it was very foggy as you can see in the photo (above).
VB took some great photos & video of the Redwoods in Orick and will be headed to "Grizzly Redwood State Park" tomorrow ... Thursday and on Friday VB will be headed down the "Lost Coast" by Ferndale California and then driving through the "Avenue of Giants"
The photo (below) looks like it was taken in Black and White but it wasn't ... I think looking hundreds of feet towards the top of the Redwood … (15 comments)

Well "Labor Day" is over and my family has gone back to the Midwest. It was a wonderful weekend celebrating my father's 75th Birthday and spending some time with many other family members.
Vegas Bob and family spent most of his time down on Fremont Street with all the tourists, which I am not use to doing. Listening to slot machines, music bands, light shows and so much more has really got my ears and nerves on end. I really don't know how people can work around all this noise, it would drive VB crazy after a short … (12 comments)

I would like to wish everyone a wonderful "Labor Day" and the holiday weekend was very busy for me. VB's relatives from the Midwest have been in Las Vegas for several days and it is very exciting to have all of us in one area at the same time. I have really enjoyed it and will remember this "Labor Day" weekend for quite a long time. My fathers birthday is September 6th, so we had a birthday party for him Sunday and he really enjoyed it.

Native American "Spirits" of the Redwoods, "Orbs" or just "Prisms" from the Lens?
This "Redwood Tree" in this photograph is around 3000 years old and there could have been many "Spirits" dancing or walking around this old tree after all these years.
I took hundreds of photographs of the Redwoods in Northern California looking towards the sun and this is one of the only ones that has this strange looking effect.

"Good Morning" Activerain and here is a post & photo I posted late last night about driving through trees. And I wanted to follow this post up this morning with another great photograph of the HUGE Redwood Trees in Northern California.
I have been visiting these "Monster" Trees ever since I was a teenager and will continue to visit them the rest of my life. These trees have become friends of Vegas Bob's many years ago and they enjoy when I come to see them and pitch a tent in the middle of them.
