Beautiful Red Rock Canyon is only 15-20 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip and Downtown.
Red Rock Canyon is located approximately 17 miles West of Las Vegas on Charleston Street, and we lived in Las Vegas several years before any of the "Locals" reveled it's location.
Red Rock Canyon is like a "Diamond in the Rough" in Las Vegas Nevada, and some of them want to keep Red Rock a secret. But Vegas Bob has plugged Red Rock for several years now and I am plugging it again.

"Red Rock Canyon" is located straight West of Las Vegas Nevada approx. 15 miles and around a 15-20 minute drive from Las Vegas Blvd.
Red Rock Canyon is where many people go to get away from the "hustle & bustle" of the City! People enjoy riding such things as riding motorcycles, bike riding, hiking, camping, horseback riding, rock climbing, BBQ picnics and more.
I do a lot of hiking around Red Rock Canyon and spent many hours there writing my book. Red Rock Canyon is a very beautiful quiet place and is a very well known place where "Locals" like to … (7 comments)

red rock: Vegas Bob Captures people relaxing on top of Red Rock Mountain in Nevada

When I hiked at Red Rock Canyon last Sunday we hiked to the top of Calico Basin and I captured these people relaxing after a long hike up. In the photograph (above) you cant' even see them, but with my 500 mm lens I was able to capture them in the photo (below).
The colors & patterns of the rocks are amazing and a photographer could spend hours & hours photographing them, and or people could spend hours just relaxing in the fresh air and beautiful surroundings.

red rock: Breath-Taking Color Patterns at Red Rock Canyon by Robert Swetz (Vegas Bob)

Last Sunday afternoon I hiked up to the top of Calico Basin at Red Rock Canyon and captured some Breath-Taking photographs of natural color patterns in the rocks.
Here is just one photograph and I will follow this post later in the afternoon with more photos from the top of the mountain.
