Is this really Planet Earth?
I have been to some very strange looking places in my life but this area took me by surprise.
Several years ago one of my nephews named Donny that lives in Alaska brought us up to Hatcher Pass located approx 20 miles north of Wasilla. There is a old historical abandoned mine at Hatcher Pass along with Red Cabins for snow skiing and winter activities.
When we first arrived at Hatcher Pass I was snapping photos of the Red Cabins and mountains. Then my Donny said let's go to another place you really have to see ...

Beautiful Palmer Alaska by Robert Swetz
If you drive north on Glenn hwy around 20 miles you will pass Eagle River and then around 15 miles north of Eagle river you will come to come to Palmer north east and Wasilla north.
Palmer is a small town with a low population with homes surrounded by HUGE mountains.
This photo above was taken off old Glenn hwy by the old steel bridge and in this area by the Knik River you can park your RV's by the river to camp, boat and fish.

Robert "Vegas Bob" Swetz arrived in beautiful Alaska several days ago, and wow how nice it is to be back.
I will be spending over one week in Anchorage, Soldotna, Homer, Palmer, Wasilla and other wonderfully beautiful places. I have been taking many new photographs and this is just one of them. It is very difficult for me to load large numbers of photos on the AR network so if you follow me at FaceBook you will see more.

The last time I was in Alaska was in 2016 so you might understand my excitement being there again. I am wrapping up a job in Silicon Valley in NorCal so it's very difficult for me to break away. I have been traveling all through Alaska now for the last 2 years from Homer, Anchorage, Fairbanks, Hope, Wasilla, Palmer, Seward, Kenai, Girdwood and other towns and one of my favorite places in Alaska is HOMER because it's at the end of the road. Robert Vegas Bob Swetz has been visiting Alaska off and on for 2 years now! Sometimes for 1 week, 2 weeks, 2-3-4 and even 5 months during this time.
There seems to be something going on between myself and Alaska that I can't grasp. When I'm in Alaska it's so different than the Lower 48, more relaxed and something that creates some change within my mind.
There is nothing wrong with this change, I like it and these types of thoughts really don't seem to cross my mind unless I visit Alaska.

Hiking, fishing, taking photographs, videos and even searching real estate properties in a very beautiful part of the world.
Although Alaska has it's good points of beauty and wild life, Alaska is extremely expensive, overpriced in so many ways.
As we have been driving around enjoying the beauty The Last Frontier had to offer, we would stop at gas stations along the way for a beverages, snacks, etc.

Vegas Bob leaves beautiful Homer Alaska
The 2 day visit and fishing trip is over for Vegas Bob and his family in Homer Alaska, we are all packed with our frozen halibut in the cooler headed north to Seward.
In Seward we will stop by a famous glacier and then drive back to Anchorage.
After we hit Anchorage we will drop the frozen fish off at the house and then drive north to Wasilla where we will be staying at Lake Lucile.

As Vegas Bob and his wife were driving around Wasilla Alaska they stumbled across the strangest lawn display ornament that I have ever seen!
At first I missed the coffin laying on the lawn of someone's home as we were driving by. As I drove by my wife Lin said did you see that and I said what?

Finally Vegas Bob aka Robert Swetz and his wife Lin spent the day together that was filled with sunshine and beauty.
Vegas Bob took many great photographs with his new camera around Palmer, Lake Lucile and some other lakes around Wasilla Alaska.
This photograph below is a mirror reflection of a chain of lakes only minutes north of Wasilla.

The temperatures have been heating up in Anchorage, Wasilla, Palmer, Seward, Homer and surrounding areas of Alaska.Temperatures have been reaching around 50-55 degrees and the sun his very hot around the late afternoon hours.
What I like so much about Anchorage and other cities is drive 5-10 miles out of the any cities in Alaska and you are in beautiful natural areas like the ones in these photos.
