On March 15,2008 we had alot of rain and hail. The hail lasted about 2 minutes but it was coming down hard. I am sure there was alot of damage to peoples homes(roof, gutters, HVAC).

I have a insurance adjuster coming out to my home tomorrow to check and see if our roof was damaged. I would rather be safe than sorry in case there is some damage and then 6 months down the road the roof starts leaking then it will be to late to claim it on my insurance.

Here is some pictures I took!

This was my second year to volunteer to help at this event. I made 2 crockpots full of chili, and decorated my booth. The people really enjoy coming out to this event since it raises money for a good cause. I enjoy helping out my community, and meeting all the people that help.

Here's some pictures that I took at the event. It was held February 23, 2008 at Goosepond Civic Center in Scottsboro, AL.

Habitat for Humanity of Jackson County 2008 Chili Challenge and Silent Auction

The event will be held at Scottsboro Goose Pond Civic Center on February 23rd from 11:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m. Tell all your friends and family and be sure to come out and have a good time while supporting a good cause.

Challengers will be competing for five awards: Judges Choice, Best Presentation, Most Populr, Professional and Student categories.

I will be a challenger for this event. I supported the event last year and I had a really good time.

I am going to enter the Chili Challenge to help raise money for Habitat For Humanity in Scottsboro, AL. I was wondering if anybody has ever done this, and if so what kind did you do to promote yourself at the event? The event is going to be held at the Goosepond Civic Center on Saturday February 23, 2008 from 11-2.

At the event they have a silent auction, singing, and of course vote for the best chili. Anybody have any good chili recipes? I would appreciate any ideas.

I found some websites that I thought everyone might want to check out. There is alot of good information I thought everyone would enjoy going to their website. Lots of good resource information I found especially JoAnn Fossland's sight. Anybody ever use any of these resources?

Here is some ideas I have used to creat referrals from my past clients:

  • Starbucks Gift Card
  • Ice Cream Gift Card
  • Movie Gift Card
  • Lowes Realtor Program
  • Homestead Exemption Notification Notecard(Reminder)
  • Replace Batteries Smoke Detector (7 years of letters)
  • Poinsetta's at Christmas
  • Pumpkin at Halloween

I would like to send out my condolences to Rick Burgess with the Rick and Bubba Show. He lost his 2 year old son this weekend. I listen to the radio show on 100.3 FM The River. I am sure some of the AR bloggers have heard of them. I believe they are stationed out of Birmingham, AL.

So if everyone would take a moment and send out a prayer for Rick and his family.

 My Deepest Symphathy,

Kim Wilbourn from Huntsville, AL

Today was my first day at my part-time job at Thompson Tax Service in Huntsville, AL. I actually enjoyed it! I am the Receptionist so all I do is schedule appointments. I didn't make it in time to take the classes to prepare taxes. I am going to plan on doing that next year from January through April 15.

I don't have to commit myself, and the job is really flexible. I can work whenever I want to, and take off it I need to. This will help bring in extra income for me, and maybe I can meet people that are looking to buy or sell a home. Maybe I can learn a little more about tax information, and the IRS than I already know. Does anyone else do this or work a second job?
