"How's the market?"  As a REALTOR® in Williamsburg, Va, I hear that question often.  My answer usually includes the phrase "Well, if I had a crystal ball..."; and I don't say that lightly.  I, like most people have a vested interest in that question.  After all owning property is still part of the American Dream and owning real estate over the long term usually adds substantially to one's net worth.

White Christmas in Williamsburg, Va - 01/17/11 03:20 PM
Believe it or not, we had a white Christmas in Williamsburg, Va!
As predicted by local meteorologists, it started snowing around 3:00 p. m. on Christmas afternoon and the snow continued until late in the evening the day after Christmas.  I think that we got about 12 to 14 inches of snow that weekend!
My daughter posted a picture on Facebook of my 6 year old grandson standing in front of our house and the snow was up to his thighs.  We probably got several more inches of snow after that picture was taken!

If you are a homeowner or would like to become a homeowner soon, you might be interested in this newsletter about what trends the housing market will take in 2011.
The local market in Williamsburg Virginia seems to be showing signs of a recovery.  Many of the local homes  are owned as investment property, a retirement property or as a second home.  That particular market has been picking up lately possibly because investors, second home owners and retirees seem to have a little more confidence in the market.
