Mail Scam - Tax Alert! - 08/18/08 01:19 PM
There have been a huge number of these types of incidents lately.Commission cheques have been stolen from real estate offices, and cashed.  Retirees monthly cheques have been stolen and cashed.  Companies are mailing out cheques to pay their suppliers and are discovering those cheques are being cashed, but by total strangers, who have modified the cheques.CRA is now cautioning us that someone is sending out a letter, asking us for information.  You can see a sample of the letter here.  (See additional information below.)http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/nwsrm/lrts/2008/l080818b-eng.pdf

I became a Mom recently... I know it was recently ... it feels just like yesterday ....only he's almost 18 years old.We have been going out for lunch or dinner, on Fridays, for as long as I can remember.At a very early age, he didn't like fast food.  He wanted to sit down with the 'big people' and learn how to use the knife and fork properly (or the chop sticks, in this case).I remember when he was 4 or 5 years old, and I'd take him for Sushi, how all the adults in the place would point and look at him … (5 comments)

The resale housing market in the GTA continued stable in July.
The average price in the City of Toronto is $395,342, which is an increase of less than one percent over July 2007, and ten percent over 2006.
In the 905 region, the price increased three per cent, compared to July 2007. This also represents an increase of about eight per cent over July 2006.
