UNHAPPY WITH MY BROKERAGE! PLEASE CANCEL THE LISTING! - 10/23/08 10:52 AM
I was recently contacted by a Seller, wondering if she could contact the Real Estate Council of Ontario (they get to suspend our license, when we're not following the rules) ... in order to have a Brokerage cancel a listing agreement, because she is very unhappy with the salesperson. I told her to call the office Manager or Broker of Record directly, and speak with them, and maybe they can have someone else service the contract. She was just not happy. She doesn't even want to make that phone call. First of all, we have to be careful not to

TRINITY BELLWOODS PARK - FARMER'S MARKET - 10/22/08 09:01 AM
The Trinity Bellwoods Farmer's Market is coming to an end for this year. The last one will be held on October 28th ... less than 1 week away. Don't miss this market. It promotes local and urban sustainable agriculture. There is an amazing selection of locally grown, organic produce, freshly baked bread, a selection of meats and dairy. Don't forget to take your re-usable bags, as plastic bags available are few. If you drive there, don't park on Shaw Street, by the park. That area is reserved for the vendor vehicles. There is also an on-leash area for pets.Smoking is not

IT'S A GREAT TIME TO BUY! IT'S CALLED FORCED SAVINGS! - 10/21/08 09:23 PM
I know there are bad news everywhere we look. The newspapers, the radio stations, our fellow realtors, our clients - everyone talks about the bad news, the bad market, the recession ... However, as a home buyer, this is great news for you. Keep in mind that although our friends to the South have been having some trouble, for quite some time, our mortgage 'rules' are quite different, and our mortgage funding works in a totally different way. Banks (here) will not lend you more than your house is worth. In fact, Banks are being very conservative and only getting worse (which

ARE YOU A CLIENT OR A CUSTOMER? - 10/19/08 12:13 PM
In Ontario, Realtors can either work with a Client, or with a Customer. A Realtor can provide many services to the consumer. When all the services are explained, the Consumer can decide whether they want to be treated as a Customer, or as a Client. Real estate negotiations are very difficult; very complex, time-consuming; and they can be very emotional. You want to have a real estate professional represent you and you want to ensure your best interests are looked after, for what will be the biggest purchase of your life. Do you want to be a client, or would you prefer

How Happy with YOU are your Clients? - 10/14/08 06:52 PM
I often wonder, after you sell the home and they settle in, how happy are they, exactly? Are they happy they chose that home? Are they happy that you sold it to them? Will they use you again? If they had to do it all over again, would they use your services again?I wonder all the time, but I think I can say that my clients would definitely call me again, if they wanted to buy or sell.I spent Thanksgiving at my sister's house, and then went over to visit a neighbour/client after dinner ... a client I sold a home to in June. END POVERTY! - Feed the Hungry, Please! - 10/11/08 11:49 AM
Deborah Pearce, from Kelowna, BC, started this quite a few months ago... and I would have reblogged her post, but couldn't (no re-blog button and I don't know how to do it any other way). I thought I would just ask everyone to please take the time to click - one click - that's how long it takes - one click - please, and you will help feed the hungry. Thanksgiving is here for us, and this is a time that I always give to the Food Bank.I have already made a couple of trips there, but that will only feed

Thanksgiving is just around the corner... - 10/04/08 05:01 PM
... how do you celebrate? What do you give thanks for, this year? I usually invite my family and close friends over, and cook all day long.I love to cook, especially for a lot of people. (Bring dessert - I don't bake.)This year, however, my house is under construction ... so I will be travelling to my sister's house, about 1 hour away. She will be making the turkey and I will bring fish (she doesn't eat meat, but the kids look forward to turkey). I will make a fish stew and a paella, most likely - something for everyone. She
