Aloha airlines abruptly closed its doors yesterday - citing high fuel cost and fierce competition. They gave there employees and passengers a 24 hour notice of the impending doom. WOW... What a day it has been in Lender Land! We had dramatic drops in the stock market, last week, the bond market is the lowest since 1985 AND some of the country's biggest lenders are going Down for the Count! 
I constantly have to explain to clients what they are saying in the media is false. First, the media sensationalizes whatever they can. Conflicting reports come out all the time, but the ones that are typically headline news are the Doom and Gloom scenarios.
It is being reported that American Home Mortgage will cease business today and is declaring bankruptcy. In the very near future Accredited Home Lenders will also probably file. Both cite recent losses and their inventories of less than high quality mortgages as the reasons for their failures.
I have talked to my friends at American Home Mortgage. I guess Indy Mac has taken a lot of the branches out west and has "cherry picked" some of the other branches....
I received an email a month or so ago from a prospective client. His coroporation is based in London and he had business in Atlanta for a few months and would require a Virtual Assistant to help him while he was here.
