day off: I want to take a day off…But, what if… - 11/10/08 10:18 AM
Saturday is fast approaching and I think to myself that it has been raining for 3 weeks straight and that is the first dry day on the horizon, so why don't I take a day off? I haven't treated myself to any fun actives in over a month, and my kids,

day off: What Do You Do When you Run Out of Gas? - 11/06/08 08:51 PM
It's been quite a year for me.
Many of you know that my mother has been fighting cancer. Now she's in the throws of Alzheimer's on top of cancer. Needless to say, that takes a lot of energy to deal with! The good news is that the cancer is responding well

day off: Temporarily Closed for Business...Sort of - 09/08/08 11:30 AM
Photo provided by stockcache.com
This morning I'm at the hospital with my wife for "girl surgery." We're at the point in our lives where we're done having children, but that wasn't really the motivating factor for this procedure (as they like to call it in the medical field). In our situation,

day off: So... what did YOU accomplish on YOUR day off? - 09/07/08 08:32 PM
So, what did I accomplish on MY day off?
1) Ran some errands, Home Depot for some light bulbs, batteries. PetsMart for some new bones (bribe) for gus-gus, since we had him neutered last week.
2) I copied CD's of my daughter's wedding (2 months ago). Photos that I've been promising

day off: I'm playing hookey! - 09/07/08 09:27 AM
(image removed due to potential copyright infringement)
Here it is Sunday morning... I'm sitting at the kitchen table, laptop, coffee (whimpering, accusing Gus-Gus beneath the table)... and I'm not going to work. No open house, no buyers, no needy sellers... I'm free! I'm free!
This is one of the first "days-off"

day off: What a Good Day Looks Like - 08/29/08 06:43 PM
If you don't recognize what this is don't feel bad. It's a gun range and unless you are a shooting enthusiast, you might not have been inside one of these before.
I'm a relative new comer to the idea of shooting at paper targets. It doesn't make sense, but it

day off: Our TEAM day off!!! - 08/22/08 10:20 AM
Well, we took our day off as a team this Tuesday. We had a fun time that was very relaxing and I only missed 78 phone calls in 6 hours!
We elected to just go walking and sit and talk on the water front and I think we ended up spending

day off: Interrupting Child can be a GOOD thing - 07/21/08 09:16 PM
Hi I know it is hard to shush your kid(s) when you are on the phone. I try not to feel like a heel but I have figured out something positive about an interrupting child.
Like most everyone in real estate, you really don't get a day off especially when you are

day off: Recovering - 07/07/08 05:14 PM
It is hard to believe that time off seems to require time to recover. Have you ever noticed that when you take time off you seem to be more tired even though you took time to relax or at least not work? Who can give a reason? I can't figure out why

day off: Twins Game - 06/20/08 12:02 PM
My brother and sister asked me to go to the Minnesota Twins game on Sunday and I was hesitant. I did not confirm a yes or no. Now a loan officer friend called and had free tickets in a great section...so I had to say yes! He only had two tickets.

day off: June 15th 2008 The Realtor "Papa" Fathers day. - 06/15/08 04:45 AM
Time to take the day with Gusto. Enjoy the time, shut down the mind when it comes to business. Stop the worry. Worring is like paying Intrest on a loan that you do not owe. It takes its toll.
Make the time to enjoy a day, call your dad say something

day off: Happy Thanksgiving! - 11/22/07 06:42 AM
This is the first day off I've had in quite a while... no work, no rentals, and hopefully no phone calls! I think that the holidays are a great time to reflect on the year, and plan for the next one. Keep in mind, there are still buyers and sellers out there

day off: Not Coming In Tomorrow! - 11/01/07 05:25 PM
I just read another member's post about taking time to do things with the family and taking advantage of the down turn in the market. Although, I have plenty of responsibilities and am still quite busy, I'm the slowest I've been all year, so why NOT take a day off to

While three days off are always great, why does the rest of the week feel like I do 9 days of work in 4 business days. Please do not get me wrong I really enjoy having time to spend with the kids and being able to fit a couple extra moments

day off: Do you take a specific day off during the week? - 08/12/07 09:51 PM
Just a question I would like to pose to the community, do you have a day during the week that you take off consistently? I know certain agents have a "family day" that they devote to their family and they do not work. As Real Estate Agents we are expected to

day off: Take a Day Off - 07/31/06 10:06 AM
Yesterday I took a day off. No cell phone, didn't go anywhere. My day started about 6:30 after allowing myself the luxury of staying in bed an extra 45 minutes, luxuriating in the feel of my new featherbed and watching the room get lighter. DH was still fast asleep. He has a different
