A good registrar is hard to find. I've worked with Dotster.com, DomainsAreFree.com, and several others. I've learned a few things. For example, if you purchase the domain name 1240westmain.com, then all the email send to it (info@1240westmain.com, john@1240westmain.com, i.e.) would get forwarded to your primary email address! So in addition to a custom or vanity domain name you get free email routing!
