The economy is a challenge for even those of us with the most secure of jobs. In response, my extended family had modified our family gift exchange this year to include a donation to the Salvation Army (and a significantly reduced dollar amount for the exchange of gifts).

Oprah's Big Give has teamed up to sponsor a barn raising at Third Phase Christian Center Food Pantry and Women's Shelter. Children's Miracle Network is an alliance of premier hospitals for children. It is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping kids by raising funds for 170 children's hospitals across North America. Children's Miracle Network achieves its mission through three principle programs and services.
