Well, it's official. I got an email this morning from our last wholesaler that was offering to fund loans using seller-funded down payment assistance programs like Nehemiah or Ameridream, stating that they were going to stop accepting new registrations for loans using these programs.

FHA realized that they dropped the ball back on February 7, 2008, when they lowered the requirements to become an FHA approved appraiser. Basically if you were an appraiser and you had a pulse you could join the FHA roster. 
Every week it seems there is some I get news from the mortgage markets to make it more difficult for people to buy a home. In this entry I don't have good news with this regard, but I just wanted to remind people of option that is availble still but has a deadline.
