With postage rates rising again (see our previous blog, Stamps Go Up Another Penny, on the new rates!), the U.S. Post Office has devised a clever solution for those who wish to remain immune, at least temporarily, to the rising rates.

When my husband and I moved to Lake Arrowhead 10 years ago, we brought with us a lifetime of down the hill (DTH) perceptions. "Down the Hill". That's what we call anywhere off the mountain, be it San Bernardino, Los Angeles, San Diego, well you get the idea.

An old topic, but worth repeating. This information comes directly from the US Postal Service. Century 21 used to have their own brochures on Identity Theft which we used to give out and it worked well -- now the Post Office is giving them out. Shredders make nice gifts....

Just a friendly reminder to everyone to stop by your local post office to pick up those .02 stamps to pair up with your old stamps. The rate change is effective 5/14/07...so don't let your letters, cards, and of course, bills get returned to you for insufficient postage. 
Today is the day that the forever stamp comes out in your local Post Office. I need to question the theory of buying these things by the horde though. 
Effective May 14th, the price for a First Class Letter will go from 39 cents to 41 cents. There will also be rate increases for other postage classes, including periodicals and domestic and international mailing services. Also new standards will be established.
