realtorcom: featured agent success on realtor.com?? - 10/14/06 06:47 AM
I am looking to maybe spend the $$$ and get myself as a featured agent on realtor.com
 http://resource.realtor.com/agent/FeaturedAgent.aspx
has anyone else had success with this?  I know you need a good backend(website) that will capture the leads.
Any success stories?  On that topic, what about the "featured home marketing system"?

Many posts have referenced Realtor.com Showcase costs without providing the actual cost breakdown. I wanted to help those that were actually interested in knowing their actual charges.

realtorcom: Auction Listings - MLS vs. Realtor.com - 09/30/06 07:44 AM
I am a big advocate of Realtors and auctioneers working together to sell property at auction.  Even when a property is marketed by an expert, there are things that are just beyond their control.
Below are the remarks that I put into MLS in Columbus OH.  Following those remarks are the remarks that Realtor.com … (8 comments)

realtorcom: using realtor.com - 09/29/06 05:02 PM
I'm wondering the expense and the success you've seen in using the showcase feature in realtor.com

I was just browsing the NAR website, and I noticed that the President, Tom Stevens is like us - a blogger.  He even uses Movable Type.  Guess what else he does, a podcast.  Unfortunately their real estate technology news site, CRT is named after an old type of computer monitor, and … (3 comments)

realtorcom: Do You Feel a Sc@$wing Coming or Could This be Real? - 09/18/06 08:04 AM
Over the weekend I received an email from a “personal representative” of a prospective buyer from a foreign country.  The email was mostly grammatically “strange”.  I still responded as “you never know”!  I suggested that they do a search of realtor.com and let me know what property they were interested in. … (0 comments)

realtorcom: "Be careful what you ask for" department. - 08/20/06 12:43 PM
I've had a long time hate/love relationship with the folks that operate Realtor.com for NAR since around 1995 when they first went into business with us and were called RealSelect.
Back then I thought Realtor.com was the greatest thing since pockets on a shirt and would revolutionize the way we did business. … (10 comments)

What's In a Number?
When I first got into the business, I learned that you need to do something to make yourself stand out. If you notice, almost ALL listings end in 000, 500, or 900. I chose to make my listings more visible by using a unique … (10 comments)

Here's a very interesting article on a recent ruling regarding "limited service" brokers and their listings on sites like realtor.com.  It's out of Austin, TX but the ramifications could be much more far reaching.
