thinking: LEFT-HANDED US PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES - 2008 - 08/29/08 06:53 PM
Obama and McCain will soon be on stage for presidential debates. Unless one or the other surprises with multiple talents on two sides ... we will see them both scribbling notes with their left hands.
What about some history? During 1992, all three presidential candidates ... George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton and Ross

Why do I love to blog? Why is it the most important business and social networking task I perform daily? Here is a perfect example of 6 degrees of separation. An Italian blogger in Torino, Italy, who subscribes to deansguide because he thinks we may be related (joke),

thinking: Change your THINKINK - 07/28/08 02:17 PM
"The significant problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them."
•-Albert Einstein (1879-1955)
Personally I believe this to be so TRUE! Just think of one of the most talked about issues in this country.
The foreclosures in our country.

thinking: Stop and think about what you are thinking about! - 07/22/08 12:32 PM
"As he thinks within himself, so he is." Proverbs 23:7 Many times we are not reaching our full potential because we are thinking in a defective pattern. We can not think negatively and live positively. We have to change our thinking pattern so that we will succeed. We can't think failure and

thinking: Thinking About Buying Your First Home? - 07/10/08 06:31 PM
With interest rates low, many renters are starting to think about purchasing a home of their own. While simple rental cost vs. mortgage cost comparisons can be very attractive, buying a home is a serious commitment, and there are many factors to consider:
How long you plan to live in the

thinking: Time to get a life? - 06/18/08 07:45 PM
The past 2 1/2 years have been tough on realtors in our area -- one of the hottest appreciation spots during the boom, we crashed hard when the brakes got put on.
Typically, activity slows down about 20% in the summer months (considered off-season down here). Not so far this year!

thinking: I'm tired of overthinking everything! - 04/24/08 09:09 PM
Let me just start by saying that I overthink everything. Even some of the most basic conundrums can take hours of reckoning before I come to a conclusion that satisfies me. But sometimes, the brain clouds over, and rationality goes straight out the window. Sometime an answer is needed right away, and

thinking: An observation - Why I love the real estate profession - 02/25/08 11:56 AM
Over the weekend I was thinking ... Why I love being a real estate professional. Every person, every transaction, every showing, every house, every inspection ... is different. As realtors, we never do the same thing twice. It is like snowflakes - each one unique. Many professions are repetitive. Even in my previous sales experience

thinking: The Power of Positive Thinking - 02/08/08 09:13 AM
We all know them; the friends and family who continue to see the half-empty glass instead of the one that we see that is half-full. I confess that sometimes they drag me down. Luckily, I have made a habit of looking for the good in any situation, and it usually doesn't

I decided, after reading a blog regarding using your former blogs to stimulate another one, to do just that. This is what happened: I have a major case of blog block and I can't sleep even though I have to get up at 5:00 AM to drive to Manchester, NH for Christmas. I have

thinking: The Inner World of Perception Rules - 12/05/07 06:12 PM
Our perceptions are truths that rule our purchase behavior. A perception may not be correct or follow any lines of what one would call logical reasoning. Perceptions held, in the mind of our customers, are the realities of their vivid imagination sparked by fantasies of emotional experiences. Simply put, there is

thinking: Great Book to Read on Leadership, Success Principles, and Thinking - 11/15/07 09:26 AM
For those of you who like to read, "The Ant and the Elephant," by Vince Poscente is a quickly-read parable about leadership and success. The author relates that he listened to a speech by a psychologist, Dr. Lee Pulos, in 1992 that changed his thinking. Or his thinking about his thinking.

I have read so much here on Active Rain about thinking and acting outside of the box and how we need be so careful that we do not assume or perceive what others are thinking. I got to learn this lesson first hand and fortunately it worked out great for me.

thinking: Tuesday’s Tip #39: Think a Little - 10/30/07 10:22 PM
I had a great talk with a successful investor today. He’s the kind of guy everyone respects, because he’s a hustler. His work ethic is never in question and his investments are returning as desired. He’s invested right, and it has paid off for him. What’s funny though is that, at first

While I’ve never read the book, I was sent a great little excerpt from Michael Michalko’s book, Thinkertoys: A Handbook of Creative-Thinking Techniques. I thought this was a more appropriate time than ever to share this, given the nature of the current real estate market.
We have more struggling sellers, harder

thinking: Your Identity - 08/26/07 01:18 PM
What is your identity? I don't mean what does it say on your drivers license. I mean the true you. Do you know the true you? You are a manifestation of all you think inside. If you think, loser; sinner; broke; debt; losey husband; liar; no good; no one loves; etc...
