The FEMA disaster recovery center is open for Seminole County residents and business owners who were affected by Tropical Storm Fay.
Tropical Storm Fay has been classified as a 100 year storm! It has been 100 years since Florida had over 30 inches of rain! No storm has ever intensified after it reached land! It left land a couple of times, only to come back and hit Florida over and over again.

Central Florida got to spend 4 days last week dealing with Tropical Storm Fay. This storm arrived Tuesday afternoon and started moving out on Friday. In the meantime it dumped several feet of rain on many areas of Central Florida. Brevard County on the east coast apparently got the worst of it.

Just a quick post for today as I’m taking a pounding from Tropical Storm Fay. I have measured over 12 inches of rain at my home thus far (and that does not include about 6 hours when my rain gauge was blown over on its side last night).

Tropical Storm Fay turned out to be less of an impact on our area, Lee County, than some may have expected. With lots of wind and rain over the late night and early morning hours, all is back to normal at my Cape Coral house.

Yesterday as people all over South Florida were making preparations for "Fay"(Tropical Storm) this young man from Lauderdale, and some of his friends, apparently wanted to seek exciting thrills by throwing caution into the air, but unfortunately that wasn’t the only thing that was thrown into the air.
