I believe that a strong stock market coupled with a healthy technology sector adds tremendous demand for a rare "lifestyle" type property such as Incline Village at Lake Tahoe. Firefighters Make Progress in Tahoe Fire - 09/19/07 03:45 PM
June 28th, 2007 Today, firefighters were able to further contain the fire in South Lake Tahoe, that has burned 3,100 acres. Forecast winds in the are did not materialize locally, giving firemen the edge they needed to make headway on the blaze. The fire is now 55% contained, and estimated to be fully contained by July 3.
The official count for homes lost stands at 229, with 13 other homes damaged. There are 3,000 evacuees, many of whom can not return to homes as downed power lines and unstable ground pose hazards such as falling rocks and trees. One firefighter was … (0 comments)

July 6th, 2007 After a tense week following the Angora fire, this July Fourth was a welcomed diversion. Most communities celebrated scheduled events, and visitors who traveled to the Lake and contributed to the tourist economy were welcomed with open arms. An estimated 10,000 people were drawn to the lake to join the festivities which lasted for several days.

2007 1st Half Tahoe Home Sales Report - 09/19/07 02:29 PM
Tahoe home sale prices dropped 5% on average in the first half of 2007, yet Incline Village was the only area to see an increase in both median and average prices for the 2nd quarter and 1st half of 2007. The average price of a single famly home in Incline Village, Nevada, jumped 21% to $1,569,000 in the second quarter of 2007 over the same period last year. The median price was up 11% to $1,200,000.
