Real Estate Weather: Choppy, Swampy Spots, Summer Slump! - 08/31/10 09:45 AM
Well, Tucson summer's are always tough! But the upside is we have sunshine and cooler weather to look forward to!  Same with summer real estate sales - it's tough right now! But there is an upside!
Yes, sales were slow last month, but it's getting better!  At some point, folks will see it.  I see it - and the choice is - go with public perception, or look at your own individual situation and decide: can I and do I want to buy  home, for a great price, and have record low interest rate?  Because really, what matters more? What everyone else thinks … (6 comments)

Software Takes Texting Off the Road - 08/29/10 08:47 AM
This is  TERRIFIC way to be proactive to help prevent texting and driving, not to mention protecting your children from online predators, etc.  It's a small price to pay considering the bigger price everyone pays for texting and driving. Thanks Gabe for sharing this information!

Via Gabe Sanders, Stuart Florida Real Estate (Premier Realty Group):
Because texting while driving has caused fatal auto accidents, 30 states, the District of Columbia and government agencies have banned it. But the ban is hard to enforce.
Now, a Georgia company announces that it will provide software to government agencies and business that … (7 comments)

If you're ready to sell it, it's time to sever the heartstrings and take a long hard look at those … (1 comments)

If The Grass Is Greener On The Other Side - It's Being Watered. - 08/27/10 03:26 PM
This morning, an associate quit the real estate business after trying it for a few years.  "Market is bad - I have no work."  The more we talked, the more I heard her blame everyone and everything for her failure and how it's the bank's fault that she is now going to lose her home.
But what has she been doing to fix it?  Has she curbed her spending habits?  Has she done anything to improve her business?  What's she been doing to correct all the negatives?   But .. she thinks Realtors who are making it are lucky - grass is … (49 comments)

Ai yi yi - It's Hot In Arizona. - 08/20/10 08:58 AM
It's been hot in Arizona.  And that's an understatement.  With temps well over 100 - closer to 105 lately -add humidity - and the only thing we can do is make some fun about it!
A few fun things about summers that only people from Arizona know:
Vehicles with open windows have the right-of-way in the summer. If you want hot water - turn on the cold water. Vinyl products are not sold here. Bags of ice are used to cool your pool down. You know better than to wear shorts and sit on anything that is or has been outside. Any kind of water … (10 comments)

When Do You Put A Tourniquet On The Blood Line? - 08/19/10 07:52 AM
Picked my daughter up from school yesterday and had a few minutes to catch up with a good friend.  The blog title was his response when I asked, "How's your mom doing with selling your house?"
A while back, he wanted to list his house with me.  Little string - his mom has been a real estate agent for years but really doesn't know anything about real estate, he said.   Anyway - he has to list with her - it's Mom - and besides - she'd be upset.  No worries. Except I feel bad for him because you see - he doesn't … (6 comments)

Friday The 13th Bad Luck Day? - 08/13/10 01:57 PM
Woke up bright and early this morning - had a little break from things and counting my blessings for what I have.  Coffee and Facebook eager to catch up with all my friends or basically stalking their pages, in an effort to stay in the loop of their lives.  Page after page I saw:
"Ugh, Friday the 13th.."    "It's going to be a bad day...",   "Staying home all day and doing nothing so nothing goes wrong.." and it went on.
I logged out and moved on made a To Do list.
As I read through the list I thought - well I've had a good … (8 comments)

Don't Force. It's Better That Way Anyway. - 08/03/10 07:12 AM
Time these days has been spent with my mom who is moving into the last stage of Alzheimer's.  Even though she is slipping away fast - every once in a while she has a moment where she will say something and it just means so much and everything suddenly makes sense.
As I sat with her the other day, I did endless chatter about how beautiful she still looks; the family; told her that we sold the house she loved for over 45 years; blogging (which I haven't put a lot of time into); real estate (which I can't focus on … (55 comments)
