Mirror, Mirror on the Wall... Will My House Sell By Fall? - 07/22/07 07:13 PM
My absolute favorite question of the year, "What's Going on In the Michigan Market?" Good question. Let me look into my crystal ball and see... Currently, I see a haze. Oh wait a minute... I see a home for sale and another home for sale. Some buyers are out looking at the front of the home and deciding whether or not to come in. Nope, they are going to try the neighbor's home instead. You ask the psychic, "Why not my home? How come these buyers don't want to even come inside?" "Not sure." Says the psychic. "It's just one of those

Real Estate Agency Relationships... Who Do They Represent? - 07/18/07 02:40 PM
I know this topic may bore you or you may say, "Why do I care who an agent represents?" The truth is that you should care who your agent works for. Maybe I should begin with the question: What does an agent do for a client? Some would say we sit around and collect a fat check at the end of the transaction. A good real estate agent works diligently for the client by finding them the best home to suit their needs, give sound advice and then helps them by holding their hand through the process of buying a home and

Beautiful Condo Listing - 3737 Old Elm at Fantastic Price! - 07/12/07 01:48 PM
Bailey's Grove in Kentwood is one of the more popular places to live because of the community atmosphere and the design of the community. Not only has the builder allowed for amenities like a Club house, pool and jogging trails, but they also designed free style site condos (look like homes) and regular condominiums (homes that are connected together). This condo is located at 3737 Old Elm and is a wonderful end-unit condo in beautiful Bailey's Grove, within walking distance to Club house, pool and jogging trails. This 2 bedroom possible 3 bedroom is meticulously clean, wonderful floor plan with beautiful towering ceilings and windows.

Top 10 Visitor Favorites about Grand Rapids, MI - 07/09/07 10:23 PM
Recently, I came back from a trip and was flying into our local Gerald R. Ford airport. As I was waiting for my luggage, I spottedthe Grand Rapids 2007 Visitors Guide and decided to take a peak as to what was actually in it. Of course, there was the guides to the local restaurants, clubs, entertainment arenas. What caught my attention was the TOP 10 Visitor Favorites. This list is what supposedly draws visitors to the Grand Rapids Area or what they appreciate most about Grand Rapids. Here it goes starting with the least favorite to number 1. 10. Article Title, "Why Can't We Be More Like Grand Rapids?" - 07/09/07 08:11 AM
I've seen lots of bulletin posts and of course comments about the state of affairs in Michigan (most of them negative). I thought I would share with you what someone outside of Grand Rapids actually thought about our city. The article in The Patriot Ledger gave Grand Rapids raving reviews. Can you believe it? Actually, I can. If you have lived somewhere besides Michigan you would see some of the things that make Grand Rapids and Michigan in general a great place to live. Here are some of the points that the article talked about for Grand Rapids. "What a nice town, what

Second Homes Still Good for Michigan Real Estate - 07/06/07 07:58 PM
With all the talk of what's going on in the market, I love to hear everyone's viewpoints as to where the Michigan Real Estate market really stands. So I read a lot of articles and of course, have my own point of view. I have to say that for once, I actually agreed with our local newspaper, the Grand Rapids Press about cottages and lakefront homes still remaining a steady market. In the article titled, 'Vacation homes are growing market' on the great 4th of July, the article talked about cottages and vacation homes holding their own. Jeanine Lemmon of Patriot Realty

Open House Collaboration - Part 2 - 07/06/07 07:45 PM
A while back I wrote a post about how in the small village of Sparta, a Realtor organized a community wide open house. I loved the idea and instead of 2 guests, I actually had 7 guests come through the door. I just listed 9175 Lady Lauren Dr in Rockford. Wonderful neighborhood with great amenities and very family oriented. 6 other homes are listed in this small neighborhood and I've organized a Neighborhood Open for July 15th from 2-4 p.m. What a great way to showcase all our homes and make it a one-stop shopping experience for the buyers to come out a

Inspiring Thoughts - If your life is boring, than you are not taking any risk. - 07/01/07 09:12 PM
I'm not a tremendously big fan of the media (sorry, the press) but I can't stand the fact that the media and local newspaper always seem to report the negative and terrible things that are happening in the world today. So, while I'm not blind to what's going on around me, I just find that the media tends to put a damper on my mood and I tend to not read it. Well, that's not exactly true. I do like the Your Life section in the Grand Rapids Press for three reasons: 1) I love all the puzzles and I fight to
