I'm Not Going to stand up here on my and spout about animal rights and animal welfare...I am technically a vegetarian but I still wear leather and I drink milk..My choices are just that... Every Week I attend a livestock auction and network to save all the horses that are sold to the kill pen in hopes that we can save America's horses from Canadian and Mexico slaughter bound trucks.

When bad weather strikes and you’re faced with an impending storm there can be major stress with thinking about the safety of your animals. One of the major concerns is fencing and breaks in that fencing. If your horse(s) got loose how would someone know where they belong? Micro Chipping is a great tool; however you need someone to be able to identify your horse without a microchip scanner. As I ran for the doorway and realized my three dogs were out in the open I thought grab them and get outside which I did. Items fell from the walls and shelves and I am hit with the realization that we are having an earthquake or a gas line is about to blow. Phone lines were down, I coudn't reach my husband and I was suddenly aware of how ill prepared I was for a natural disaster. Time to get some plans in place!
